House of Anuubis [Writing Shop - Trade Friendly]

The moon hangs low and full in the sky, the bellies of a hundred rolling stormclouds awash with moonlight. You find yourself on a well-trodden path, the forest creeping in around you at every side. A mist crawls across the ground, swirling around your paws, and the ferns along the edge of the path tremble, beckoning. 

A long, lone howl in the distance causes you to prick your ears. The song is sad and slow and somber, and a single crow screams overhead. It takes off from its perch, the bough of the pine tree trembling beneath the weight, and a single black feather drifts to the ground at your feet.

Suddenly the mist begins to creep closer, climbing up your legs and over your back, swirling so thickly around you that for a moment you cannot see your paws. As soon as it comes, it is gone, and when it begins to dissipate, creeping back into the thick ferns, you find yourself face to face with a she-wolf. Her fur is the color of a moonless sky, interlaced with a rich blood red. The most striking feature, you notice, is her eyes. A white stripe on her nose draws your gaze to them, and you realize with a shock that they are neither blue, nor green, nor even black. They seem to shift and change with the mist, so that for a moment you might be staring at your own reflection on the surface of a lake, yet at the same time looking into the shadows. 

"I heard you coming," she says, and her voice exists neither within or without you. "My name is Anuubis." She tilts her head with a flick of one ear, and when she turns you feel compelled to follow her. "Walk with me and tell me of the road you took to get here, stranger."
