[WIP reserved] Generation 1: The Oak Generation Era Rollover 1 to Rollover- ORIGIN STORIES OF THE OAK GENERATION As recorded by the Storyteller MAHARANI
MAHARANI THE DAWN ALPHA SIFIR THE FREE
SIFIR THE FREE - THE FIRST MATE AK'SAKKA THE SHARP
Mentor of Kisithunzi the Restless, the fourth Flame Orphan The Storyteller I am the Storyteller. When Ak'sakka lived, I was not yet born. What I know of her has been passed down in the tribe from one generation to the next. She mentored Kisithunzi the Restless closely, and his children have told me most of what we know about her life. Homecoming Ak'sakka the Sharp joined the Hart late in life, when she was 4 years old. She served in the First Guard, along with Valhalla the Bold, Idanu the Keen, and Isati the Rash. As the most experienced warrior and the tribe's foremost military strategist, she took charge of the hunt, becoming the First Commander. Her unique combination of wily stealth and bone-crushing strength earned her the title of First Stalker. Relationships When the Hart adopted Kisithunzi the Restless, an adolescent misfit who had been chased away from his home, Ak'sakka seemed to see a piece of her younger self in him and immediately took over his care. Unlike the gentle First Keepers Ntsundu and Isati, who raised the three remaining Flame Orphans, Ak'sakka could be cold, distant, and brusque. Though Kisithunzi learned a lot from her, her aggressive ways rubbed off on him and he became self-serving and greedy in his youth, craving the affection he did not receive as a pup. Character Early Life: Helpful Ak'sakka was born with a friendly disposition. She became wise by offering a helping hand to the elders of the tribe that adopted her, quickly learning how to fulfill many tasks. From a young age, the adults recognized her quick wit and mighty jaws, so they apprenticed her to the prime stalker of their pack, a role in which she exhibited excellent teamwork skills. However, after being cast out from the tribe she had loved, Ak'sakka's personality changed and she grew more abrasive. Even though she dedicated her all to the Hart, she was never able to trust her new tribemates the way she had when she was an adolescent. The mighty warrior had no fears, save for the great, secret fear that she might one day be chased away again, and this time when she would be too old to survive on her own. Origins Ak'sakka has spoken little about her origins. When Ak'sakka trained one of Kisithunzi's children in stalking, and the child returned to their father with a tearful tale of how harsh Ak'sakka had been, Kisithunzi told the child that Ak'sakka had been cruelly chased from the tribe of her birth. Young Ak'sakka was forced to steal in the struggle to survive, and wandered alone for many moons until another tribe adopted her as an adolescent and trained her to become a prime hunter. Thinking she had finally found the place where she belonged, she poured her heart into this new tribe. But halfway through Ak'sakka's life, her adopted tribe cast her out forever. Ak'sakka never told anyone why. VALHALLA THE BOLD
NTSUNDU THE GENTLE
KOHL THE DARING
IDANU THE KEEN
VIAKÁURA THE YOUNG
ATOSOLA THE ODD
ISATI THE RASH
Mother of ? The Storyteller I am the Storyteller. When Ak'sakka lived, I was not yet born. What I know of her has been passed down in the tribe from one generation to the next. She mentored Kisithunzi closely, and his children have told me most of what we know about her life. Homecoming Isati joined the Hart as a young adult, when she was 1 year and 9 months old. She serves as the Second Warden of the First Keep; she loves playing with the pups, and the pups adore her. Prior to this, at the founding of the Hart, Isati served as the Third Chaser in the First Guard, along with Ak'sakka the Sharp, Idanu the Keen, and Valhalla the Bold. Her lack of skills in a particular area made her a good all-around addition to the tribe, able to flexibly fill a number of roles as necessary. Relationships Isati has a soft spot for First Mate Sifir the Free, who recruited her into the Hart. She and Sifir are close, and have born many litters together. Character Early Life: Impulsive Isati was born with an impulsive disposition. Nowadays, she is known for being playful and beautiful, but fairly scatterbrained. The pups love her, for she keeps them endlessly entertained with stories and silly games. Origins Isati joined the Hart when she was only 1 year old. She had been chased away from her old pack, who found her useless. Usually, Dawn Alpha Maharani recruits all members of the Hart, but at the founding of the Hart, Dawn Alpha Maharani allowed First Mate Sifir the Free one choice of recruit over Maharani's objections. Sifir chose Isati, and Maharani would soon come to see the wisdom of his choice in Isati's beautiful children – some of whom have inherited her fiery coat – and Isati's joyful romps with the pups in the nursery. |

[WIP reserved] ~ GENERATION II ~ Era Rollover - to Rollover - ORIGIN STORIES OF THE DAWN GENERATION As recorded by the Storyteller PART ONE: THE FLAME ORPHANS Am'gulbrún the Gracious, Limyè the Fox, Zöld the Small, and Kisithunzi the Restless AM'GULBRÚN THE GRACIOUS
Homecoming Am'gulbrún joined the Hart as a little pup, when she was just 2.5 months old. Like the other Flame Orphans, the Hart took her in after a terrible fire swept the woodlands. She serves in the Green Guard, along with ?. Character Early Life: Sociable Origins Like the other Flame Orphans, the Hart took in Am'gulbrún after a terrible fire swept the woodlands. The pack she had belonged to in her puppyhood was dispersed by the flames, and she got lost until Isati the Rash found her on a hunt, back when Isati was the Second Chaser of the First Guard. Charmed by the pup's cries, Isati abandoned her life as a warrior to become Am'gulbrún's ward. Soon, Am'gulbrún was joined by three further Flame Orphans: Limyè the Fox, Zöld the Small, and Kisithunzi the Restless. Conflict between (1) Am'gulbrún and Zöld on one side, (2) Ak'sakka, Valhalla, and ? on the other side, and (3) deceptive Limyè playing both sides and ultimately angering both sides, in the process winning Ak'sakka's respect and Valhalla's hatred. This conflict leads to the parting of the First Guard: Ak'sakka and Limyè found the Blood Guard (aggressive and romantic); Valhalla and ? found the Iron Guard (aggressive and stoic); and Zöld, Am'gulbrún, Kayu, and Fýllo found the Green Guard (friendly and stoic). LIMYÈ THE FOX
The second Flame Orphan Homecoming Limyè the Fox joined the Hart as a young adolescent, when she was 9.5 months old. Like the other Flame Orphans, the Hart took her in after a terrible fire swept the woodlands. She serves in the Blood Guard, along with ?. Character Early Life: Dishonest Origins Like the other Flame Orphans, the Hart took in Limyè after a terrible fire swept the woodlands. The pack she had belonged to in her puppyhood succumbed to the flames. ZÖLD THE SMALL
The third Flame Orphan Homecoming Zöld the Small joined the Hart as a young adolescent, when she was 8.5 months old. Like the other Flame Orphans, the Hart took her in after a terrible fire swept the woodlands. She serves in the Green Guard. Character Early Life: Arrogant Origins Like the other Flame Orphans, the Hart took in Limyè after a terrible fire swept the woodlands. The pack she had belonged to in her puppyhood succumbed to the flames. KISITHUNZI THE RESTLESS
The fourth Flame Orphan Homecoming Kisithunzi the Restless joined the Hart as a young adolescent, when he was 6 months old. Like the other Flame Orphans, the Hart took him in after a terrible fire swept the woodlands. He served in the First Guard, along with Idanu the Keen, Isati the Rash, and Valhalla the Bold. Her unique combination of wily stealth and bone-crushing strength earned her the title of First Stalker. Relationships When the Hart adopted Kisithunzi, Ak'sakka the Sharp, a haughty warrior and the First Commander of the First Guard, seemed to see a piece of her younger self in him and immediately took over his care. Unlike the gentle First Keepers Ntsundu and Isati, who raised the three remaining Flame Orphans, Ak'sakka could be cold, distant, and brusque. Character Early Life: Selfish Only as a mature adult, when he had children of his own, did Kisithunzi realize that his injured mother had chased him away in order to save his life, knowing that she would be too slow to escape the encroaching fire. Ever since, Kisithunzi often accompanies the Dawn Alpha Maharani on her explorations, hoping against hope that his mother survived the fire, and that he will one day find her and reunite. Origins Like the other Flame Orphans, the Hart took in Kisithunzi after a terrible fire swept the woodlands. Unlike the others, who had belonged to packs that succumbed to or became dispersed by the flames, Kisithunzi had already been an outcast before the fire drove him into Hart territory. Kisithunzi's mother had been chased away by her clan when she was pregnant with him. Her crime was that she had mated with the pair bond of the Alpha's daughter in a secret tryst; her accomplice, guilt-ridden, confessed to the Alpha. Not daring to antagonize the powerful Alpha of her birth clan, Alphas of nearby tribes refused to take in Kisithunzi's mother, who decided to wander as far as possible from the mountainous lands of her birth to find a new home. Along the way, she bore Kisithunzi. The two of them traveled together through thick and thin. She trained him as best he could, but he would never quite fit in with groups, settling down, or pack discipline, having been accustomed to a nomadic life as a single child without much supervision. However, one day, his mother became injured during a hunt. The wound would take several months to heal. Kisithunzi and his mother made a temporary den, and it became his responsibility to obtain food and herbs. Kisithunzi did his best, but still being a young adolescent, he was easily distracted and a poor hunter. One terrible day, a bizarre, alarming smell began to seep through the forest. A crackling sound hissed somewhere far away, and black smoke rose from the treetops in the distance. Kisithunzi ran back to ask his mother what was happening, but when he arrived, she snarled at him. "Get away from here," she snapped. Kisithunzi promised her he would be a good boy and bring her all the food and medicine she could dream of, but she would not relent. Heartbroken, Kisithunzi tucked his tail between his legs and fled, chased away by his own mother and the only family he had left. It was in this forlorn condition that the First Guard of the Hart found him. Ak'sakka the Sharp picked up his scent after a failed hunt. The other warriors disagreed with her decision to go after the scent trail of a wolf who did not smell like a clan, but rather had the dirty and unfamiliar smell of an outcast. However, Ak'sakka could tell that the smell belonged to an adolescent, and so she pushed on and tracked him down. Even though the other warriors objected to adopting a boy, Ak'sakka insisted on initiating him into the Hart and took him on as her apprentice, promising the Keepers that she would take primary responsibility for his care. Unlike the other three female Flame Orphans, who were raised by the gentle First Keepers, Ntsundu and Isati, Kisithunzi was trained by Ak'sakka, a brilliant but harsh mentor. Only many years later, when he had children of his own, did Kisithunzi begin to put the pieces of his memories together. At long last, he realized that his mother had chased him away in order to save his life, knowing that she would be too slow to escape the encroaching fire; her injury made it very difficult for her to walk, and impossible for her to run. This discovery caused him to go through a long period of grief and loss. Eventually, Kisithunzi found peace in the knowledge that his mother had not abandoned him, but rather loved him till the end. Ever since he became one of the Hart, Kisithunzi often accompanies the Dawn Alpha Maharani on her explorations, hoping against hope that his mother survived the fire, and that he will one day find her and reunite.
