Premium monthly backgrounds / decor 💖

Subscription based revenue stream = good for supporting the site!

Exclusive one-month-only release = items that actually hold their value! Good for the players

People love collecting pretty things! It would be exciting to see beautiful new art each month.

Example: The exclusive Black Friday decor have actually held their worth which shows this is an idea that would work.

It makes more sense to have collectible premium cosmetics than put quality of life features behind a paywall. I have seen this work on other online games.

(If you're just going to complain about more things that cost GC then please try to remember the devs deserve to earn an income for all the hard work they put into this game.)

I think this is a great idea! Not sure if the economy would take well to it now, but once we get some of the features promised in the last news post I think things will settle in a way to make room for this :)

Few questions to flesh it out (don’t answer if you don’t wanna, devs can do the tough balancing work, haha) :

- Would this be purchasable with Gc or a direct rl currency subscription?

- Would a set amount be distributed to every subscriber, or would it unlock a new shop? Or both?

- Would they still have the 5 uses limit? What happens if all are used up or hoarded? (These things should gain value, but sometimes they reach absolute unattainable crazy expensive levels even with unlimited uses... looking at a certain dragon game.)

Good questions! I think it should be purchasable with GC so F2P players still have a chance, though the aim of this is really to entice people to support game development costs. It would be neat if you could sign up to automatically get one each month though! Maybe bonus decor item/recipe if you subscribe in advance as opposed to just buying it? The use limit should definitely be higher, maybe twice as much as normal backgrounds.

Support from me. I find the current options (mainly thinking on backgrounds) to be pretty lackluster. They're fine but I'm picky and really want bgs that make my wolves POP. With dark wolves i won't get a dark bg, for example. Adding GC exclusive ones would be a cool way to implement new options. 

Additionally there are a few ways this may (unsure)  help the economy. Some players won't be able to get much if any GC. SC is semi-hard to get depending on your understanding of the game, so players could utilize the TC and sell Grove decor for SC. That would both allow non-paying players to get the more exclusive decor and the paying ones another source of income.

Additionally additionally i think this would drive more people to buy GC. I've spent nearly $200 on this game: half for a t3 pup, some for two customs, and others for customizing items (essentially just opacity changers). I also have put about 30GC into FAPA so far. Overall I just don't buy a lot from the Grove, and really don't plan to. However, if there were to be premium decor I would probably spend a lot more. That means more money for the devs.

I think anything that takes Gc out of circulation should lead to more being purchased, so Gc-purchasable would work! (I’m F2P so I ‘d like it to not be rl-currency, but since it’s not quality of life I don’t think it’d be unfair or complain-about-able if it was.)

My first thought reading this was that the subscription could give you one copy automatically and allow you to purchase more using Sc - so it wouldn’t limit the amount too much but would still give incentive to subscribe! Perhaps each decor could be available to re-buy once a year along with the new one? That would get rid of the issue of them ‘dying out’ and maybe remove the need for a different amount of uses (.. depending on how expensive the whole thing is.)
