Showing Enemy Level During Battle

I think showing enemy level during battle would be great, especially for encounters that automatically enter a battle instead of telling you the level first (like climbing the rocks and continuing forward). This way, people can tell whether or not the enemy has a chance of dropping a trophy or is worth the experience they would give at the end of the battle. This would largely be a coding difference, but may alter some UI art in the battle screen. |

Full support!! A big part of battle is learning what species are worth fighting at what levels, and I have often been really frustrated that during an ideal, very even match with high rewards, I wasn't able to know what level my opponent was at just because they had spawned from an automatic battle encounter such as the chase vs. turn around bird in the Taiga. |

You can actually check this in your user log iirc! It should say something like "[won/lost] a battle with a level [number] [species]" Edit: here's an example Won a battle against a level 8 Canadian Lynx and got +214 EXP! Total energy used: 12. New HP after fight: 22. Won 1 SC. |

@mothbrainz Unfortunately I don’t think that works while you’re still in battle with them! Useful for after the fact, but during you don’t know if the enemy is worth the healing you’re going to have to do after, or worth a lucky foot or something similar. If I’m trying to collect trophies, knowing after the fact that I won to a lv 6 fox instead of a lv 17, won’t help my battle decisions during said battle, and I’ll potentially end up wasting resources I could use to be fighting against a level closer to my lead’s for better experience and higher trophy potential |

Well aside from the keep moving forward type encounters, it does tell you the level beforehand. There is no 'higher trophy potential' as far as I know either, either you can get a trophy (being level 5 or higher and fighting things that are less than 5 levels below you, the same level, or a higher level) or you can't get a trophy (being level 4 or lower, fighting things more than 5 levels below you.) I've found it easy enough to judge whether healing is worth it based on the HP bars in the fight. I don't have an opinion on the suggestion, was just letting you know that you can retroactively check levels! |

I’m talking about those random encounters, in that I’d like to be able to know those levels! My reasoning for wanting levels to be included in the average battle too though, is for the times when one might click enter battle, but realize they missed what level it was, or were distracted during it, or looked away and forgot/etc. When I say ‘higher trophy potential’, that’s exactly what I mean! Being able to earn a trophy is higher potential than not being able to earn a trophy at all, and especially as my lead is lv 17/soon to be lv18, the keep moving forward/climb the rocks encounters are ones that, honestly, i personally have not used at most points in the game. especially because i largely focus on trophies, and i’m trying to earn enough for the fox base. I’ve also personally not been able to accurately judge based off of the hp bars; that may be a thing that you can do, but not everybody can, so this is a suggestion to make it easier for others to know if a battle is worth it. |

I'm not for or against the suggestion, it doesn't really matter to me, I'm just pointing out that you can check. The climb the rocks cougar encounters seem to range from 15 to 20 and the keep moving forward wolves tend to be 20 to 25 in my experience - it might adjust based on your level, I don't know. With HP bars I just look at whose is dropping fastest and guestimate if I can knock it out before it knocks me out. |

There's a big difference between guesstimating and checking… 5 levels is the difference between kill or be killed, and dropping a trophy or not. Not to mention every single species has a different HP, dodge, and damage range depending on the level. It's reasonable to ask that Keep moving forward encounters and the like should show the level once the encounter begins. |
