I'm kinda new? Need Mentor

Okay, I'll be honest. I play the game sporadically and feel like I do not really understand the ins and outs of the game. I see amazing profiles with cool backgrounds and graphics, but have no idea how to do them. I can't even locate where to get a unique avatar image up. Then I am a bit lost at what sort of rare challenges there are for breeding that I should work towards as well as who would make good mates within my pack (or who I should get to get something worthwhile to sell in terms of pups).

Yeah, so I guess in summary, I have been running around aimlessly and would like to see if I can make this game more tangible and fun for me. Anyone willing to help mentor me? Thank you in advance!
