"Fountain of Youth" - An Alternative to Immortality

personally i support this. it’s super disheartening to find the perfect wolf for your plans or for your pack & have it be close to death already. i do agree that limitations would be needed to be in place, perhaps even more than the given, to prevent it from being game breaking |

@halohte -- glad you support, and i entirely agree! yes, definitely there'd need to limits -- only using it once and having "locked" stats would be the minimum. :) |

i gladly support this. i mean, who would want to waste 30 GC on a jellyfish? |

No support from me Mostly for reasons already mentioned - it's just too game-breaking. If you can reuse your Stalker, you're able to find bigger trails than you would with a fresh Lvl 1 yearling. This is a massive advantage since bigger trails give more exp for the rest of the team, meaning they gain heaps of exp. This isn't fair imo - there's a reason the jelly fish disables pack duties |

If this were implemented in any way, I'd actually expect it to cost a lot more than a jellyfish, not less. Like 100+ GC each. After all, you're talking about keeping a wolf an entire lifetime longer while it can still be used in the game, unlike jellyfish which just keep them around for viewing only. Even if stats and other things are "locked" when reset, you'd still have an advantaged wolf to use. If you have a scout maxed out on proficiency and statted enough to quickly scout all biomes after your lead is reset, it kind of defeats the purpose of having to unlock them again in general. It could mean someone keeps a high stat lead through a half year of easily defeating enemies through events like the Lunar one, without having to build back up from replacement. A rich enough player could keep an entire skilled hunting party together for months of easily taking down the largest prey to feed a disproportionately large pack, or as Frisk mentioned, keep just one skilled stalker to quickly level up a bunch of new hunters. A good herbalist would have almost a half year extra to churn out healing salves with the extra use that they gain after 80% proficiency and never having to re-learn recipes. And it could certainly let people camp wolves on the leaderboard for months. I'm not entirely sure I'd call an item like this game "breaking", but I definitely would consider it a paradigm shifting item that would change a lot of how people currently focus on their pack. Other suggestions might be having NBW with a younger age range instead of the current range. Or an item that can de-age a wolf 6 months or at most 1 year, and can only be used once per lifetime. That's still a lot, but not as much as resetting from 7 to 1, and can help older chased NBWs have longer use-life in the pack that claims them. A high enough price tag for a smaller length of time could also keep it from being exceptionally abused for stat gains. |

Maybe it shouldn't be a grove item, but an event item? That way, it is only obtainable one time of the year, and it isn't pay-to-win, like some people were concerned about. |
