Tier III question

Tier III question

So with breeding higher tiers in general do both parents have to have the same tier color I’m assuming or can it be any color as long as it’s the same tier? So for example muted dark II bred with warm dark II instead of muted II x muted II

I'm not sure what you're after, but their genetics don't have to match, no. Breeding two T2s together will give a better chance of getting a T2 then breeding a T2 and a T1, but you can still get a T2 from a T2 with a T1. As long as one parent is the tier you're after the pups have a chance of being that tier.

You might want to check out the Grouse House genetics guide for more info on breeding between color groups! Fun fact, breeding Muted x Muted has a small chance of throwing ANY color group, including Cool, Warm, and Monochrome.

With the way genetics work on Wolvden, it's not as simple as breeding, say, two White wolves together and only getting White babies. In this example the pups could also be Dust, Quartz, or Snow, because those are all Monochrome Light I bases.

Breeding two Tier Is together will never produce a TII, you need at least one parent who is already TII. And breeding two TIIs together will never produce a TIII, you need at least one parent who is already TIII. But otherwise they can be from any color group or shade. Light, Cool, Monochrome, Dark, etc. doesn't affect the tier!
