Season and Time of Day duration [With Day/Night Time Table!]
Posted 2021-02-02 07:21:11 (edited)

NEW: See the bottom for a hopefully accurate NIGHT/DAY TIME SCHEDULE!!

So, I thought it would be helpful to have a simple guide to how long seasons and times of day last.

SEASONS

Seasons are fairly simple. All seasons last 6 days. You can view how many more days a season will last here, in your cooldowns, which you can access by clicking on "Welcome back, [username]" and selecting Cooldowns at the top of the screen.

Note that seasons effect gameplay. The "angry raccoon" encounter in Explore has different options based on season. [For more in-depth on that specifically, or more detail on any explore encounters, I advise viewing this Grouse House guide. The raccoon encounter specifically is under Encounters in Multiple Biomes.] In SPRING, pups have a slight survival boost. SUMMER and AUTUMN have no effect besides the raccoon. WINTER decreases hunting success rate, lowers pup survival chance, and [I believe] decreases the amount of herbs your herbalist will bring back when foraging.

If you want to see when seasons are changing this year, I recommend this helpful thread made by this user [ID #15164]!

TIME OF DAY
CREDIT: I found this information in this thread, and it was posted by this user [ID #4308]. This is basically copied from there, I hope they and the original poster there [ID #27149] don't mind me using this information, I didn't get get permission since I assumed hoped lol that it's okay as long as I credit them ^^' [To them: if either of you mind me using this w/out permission, just message me and I can remove this segement of the post until I do testing myself or something]

Of course, I cannot guarantee it's accurate and may do some additional testing later. But basically it seems to go as follows.

SPRING
SUMMER
AUTUMN

WINTER
DAWN

DAY

NIGHT

1 hr 20 mins

Times of day might affect what fish you catch [for example, there's one fish I've only ever even seen during dusk], but I have no solid proof of this yet!

Note that night time is actually shown as the current cycle of the moon. The moon cycles have no known effect currently, but any moon is considered night time.

Hope this helps some people, enjoy! :)

EDIT: @Noon #3807 made this wonderful time of day schedule and gave me permission to use! It should be accurate or close to accurate! This will hopefully help with figuring out when night-time for the new event is.

Ah i'm glad someone finally made a guide on that! °^° (also happy to be credited :p)

I'm wondering if it would be a nice addition to add if day and night time is in even hours or odd hours. It seems night time is often in even hours and day time in odd hours.

It seems like the day/night cycle isn't reversed for Autumn.

Spring and autumn time are the same, night is at even hours ex: 8:00 and day at odd hours ex 9:00
