I’m hoping for a Mojave. It’s my favorite base

Some highlights and thoughts I shared in a discord convo related to this topic:

I do think there has to be some mystery to the NBWs but this is just the NBW google doc editors' suspicions that the wolves are entered in to the pool to returned as a chased wolf the RO after they are chased. The moment we find a wolf in the same day, those collecting in the NBW document will share!! It would be great to disprove out theory, just to confirm a yes or no to the question either way would be better.

Also, if any of you guys find a wolf in the same day, share as well! This will not be an easy task and it will take everyone looking for the T3s that are chased. It will also be fun to see which return and who gets them, all while learning the mechanics behind the scenes (since sneaky devs wont tell us things, or rather may not even tell the mods these things, which is okay! knowing this information is sorta meta-gamey to just be told it anyways.)

My personal theory on how the pool queuing may work: So there is only a limited amount of chased wolves chosen to return, that amount sits in a queue waiting to be called to show up in someone's explore. If there are lots of wolves being chased, there may be a line of wolves sitting the "void" for an unknown amount of time until they are called

Ex: like the wolf who was found in explore and claimed 10 days after being chased--

I imagine there's an RNG call for "what type of NBW will you get, a chased, a star, or a regular" and then if you get the chased option there is a pool where the chased wolf is randomly picked from. Wolves could be in that pool for weeks, maybe longer.

And yes none of these T3s could be found ever again.

My Tips for the Great Chase:

1) keep multiple den spots open if possible, because there is a chase cool down of 2 hours

2) have 5GC in your inventory at all times, auto catch any T3s, use references and guides to determine if it is a T3.

3) there is a formula to always catching the wolf. It goes something like this:

1. choose the option with the least negative outcome first

2. once you unlock the personality, choose the highest positive choices for the last two

I have done this every time and not failed since using this formula (unless I made a mistake).

Remember, if you fail, fight, or reject the option for a NBW it is lost forever.

Event Prep: The best thing to do rn is to look at every NBW encounter you come across, reject all duds to begin clearing out the NBW queues. Save up on Guarana if you can afford it, maybe share amongst your friends, have extra den slots ready, and your guide to befriending and the list of T3 bases in another application outside of wolvden. (As mentioned before you cannot browse wolvden while befriending so having it on wolvden itself will not be helpful)

@Potathoe I can already tell you that the NBW Wulfenite I chased that was found, was found during the same RO period that I chased it. I chased it early in the day and it was found later in the same day.

Really? would it be possible for you to look at your logs? We have found dozens of wolves and none have ever returned before a RO has passed

I wish we had documented the wulfenite chase -- it seems to be an outlier on a few things. (Like the devs saying it takes 12-24 hours but the wulf was found in 8 if i heard correctly?)

It's alright if you cant find the logs! I'm hoping now that we're documenting lots of chased wolves we'll be able to find another within a single day as well (so far has not happened).

Either way, with everyone looking for these T3s I'm sure we'll catch some patterns in how chased NBWs work.

From my log: Chased 🐺 Wulfenite (#1259815) 2021-02-06 14:33:09

From Perseus's profile: Wolf created on 2021-02-06 22:35:42

Perseus has been redesigned since he was caught, but when initially caught I verified it was the same wolf I chased.

I think what you guys are doing is so cool! I wish I had a T3 I could throw in too, hopefully in the future!

As for finding chased nbws, I've found one that was chased the same day before! link link  , I originally had gave the nephaline to someone to chase for me and later that day, I had found the same nephaline! The wolf shown in the second link is not the right wolf because I had only copy+pasted the image from WDs site, so the URL was recycled sadly.

Hope this helps!

It does very much!

For context: the reason we thought this was because people when searching for chased wolves were noticing they were getting more chased wolf interactions very early after RO (say 2-3 hours in ) whereas later in the day, they were not. I'm wondering if this is in correspondence of WHEN someone chases rather than the occurrence of RO. Perhaps people chasing before bed because they wont have room in their dens for the wolves the next day? I'm not sure, but I know I have personally had the best luck finding chased NBW encounter around a few hours after RO as well.
