That's actually answered on the first page here! According to this modbox answer, there's an equal chance to find them in any biome, not just the one they were chased in~ Hopefully that helps!

TODAY MARKS THE OFFICIAL START OF THE EVENT!!!!!!!!! 
I also want to post an update that we are CLOSED FOR FOXES 

As there's already a large number of 1st Gen foxes in the game and we've gotten LOADS as part of this event (I think 50% of the chases for this are foxes) we're going to close taking any more of them in, this the whole point of this is to get new T3 lines from other base genetic groups, it would be a shame if all the foxes ended up in the pool in place of the other bases!

Ergo the 5 foxes submitted by Kaorusquee will be the last we'll take as part of the event! 

I'll be posting an update to numbers and a guide to help you stand the best chance of finding them in explore shortly :D 

I’ll be able to chase this little Mojave gal after 3 days and a crystal :D is she alright to enter into the event :)

The event has LANDED ya'll!!! You guys excited??? I AM! So just a few reminders to help try and make this as successful as possible (PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AROUND ALL YOUR DISCORD SERVERS!) 

NBW Info: 

- They can turn up in ANY biome, not just the one they were chased in. 

- If you click fight, if you don't claim, if you don't have enough den space or money etc, basically if you lose or 'skip' in ANYWAY That wolf is DELETED FOREVER. 

- Wolves take 12 to 24 hours to show up in explore from the "pool" they get held in once chased. 

- Not all chased wolves go into the pool

To help you: 

- Have 5 GC on you to claim (actually on you, not buried) 

- Make sure you have enough den space / don't explore if you don't!

- Do not FIGHT any wolf encounters, befriend ONLY and if you don't like them THEN you can fight them (Same for 'follow Sweet Scent' Check them ALL out)

- Make sure your wolf is level 10 (min) but over level 15 if you can (this gives higher chase to see chased wolves)
