“If you need somewhere to stay you can stay at my house, the couch is plenty big enough. But if you have somewhere else to go then I guess I’ll see you tomorrow,” smiled Madison as she walked out of the school with Luke. When Madison got him her mother gave her a ring on a chain that belonged to her father. It was too big to wear so the necklace would have to do, she smiled as she put it around her neck.

He looked at her, “you pretty much read my mind,” he said with a laugh. I’ll call you in an hour or so and let you know,” he told her with a smile. He then walked her to her house, then left to his friends. He hung out with them for an hour and then used their cellphone to call Madison. “Hey Madison, maybe I do need a place to stay,” he said with a laugh. “Only if your moms okay with it though,” he told her. 

(I’ve got an idea. What if the mom and Luke know each other? His fathers best friend knows your characters dad(he can still be alive). And Madisons mom was able to get in contact with Luke’s parents because of Madison’s dad. But there’s a war erupting and Luke has to go back and maybe Madison can go with him?)

“I’m sure she’ll be fine with it Luke, well here we are it’s nothing fancy but it’s the perfect size for me and my mom. Mom I’m back and I’ve brought a guest to stay with us for the night is that ok. I’ll be right back Luke,” smiled Madison as she went to find her mom. Soon Madison returned and she was wearing the ring around her neck, little did she know it was the same one that Luke was now wearing.

Emma came out of her bedroom and stopped in her tracks but smiled when she saw Luke,”Luke it’s so good to see you again. How’s your family doing? It’s been awhile since I’ve seen them. Madison Luke’s family was best friends with your dad,” replied Emma as she gave Luke a gentle hug.

Luke smiled and nodded, then waited patiently for her to come back. He looked at the necklace she was wearing. He looked at the ring carefully, it was an elf ring. He then watched as Emma came out into the living room. He put a big smile on his face. “It’s so good to see you also Emma,” he told her. “They’re doing just fine, I’ll have to have them come and say hello,” he said with a smile and gave her a hug back. Emma was like his second mother, she was always so sweet towards him and always helped him when he needed it. He then looked at Madison. “I didn’t know you had a daughter,” he said and smiled at Madison. Madison must’ve been the daughter of his fathers best friend. 

“Your parents never told you, probably just too busy. But then again I lost contact with them for a couple of years until just a few months ago when I saw your mom out shopping. It was when she was getting art supplies for you. I bet you’re hungry Luke, I made way too much for just Madison. I’ve gotta be going to work now, but tell your parents I said hello,” smiled Emma as she gave Luke another hug before giving Madison a hug. She waved goodbye as she headed off to work.

”there’s some drinks in the fridge, Rootbeer or Mountain Dew. But if you want water there’s some cold bottles in there as well,” smiled Madison as she got two big slices of pizza that her mom made earlier,”sorry my mom likes making big pizzas and I can never eat it by myself so at least there’s somebody that can eat it with me,” grinned Madison as she sat down on the couch with her two slices of pizza.

Luke nodded and smiled, giving her a big hug before she left. He then looked at Madison and nodded his head, he went to the fridge and grabbed a water. He then grabbed a few slices of pizza. He wanted to talk to her about his home, but he knew her mother probably wanted to tell her about it all first. He smiled, “I can’t remember since the last time was since I’ve had pizza,” he said as he took a big bite. He was very hungry. He then grabbed his water to drink a few sips, the ring facing Madison. 

“That ring. It’s the same as my Father’s ring, how come they’re the same Luke and how come my mom knows your family so well, she has never told me about my father, only that he died before I was born,” replied Madison as her fingers ran over her father’s ring.

Emma texted Luke’s cellphone,*tell her Luke, it’s best it comes from you and not me. She would never forgive me if she only knew that she’s half elf, she needs to know the truth of where she comes from,* she said as she put down her phone and got to work.

Luke looked at Madison and sighed, looking down at his shoes and fiddling with his ring. He then looked at his phone and then back at Madison. “You’re half elf Madison,” he told her. “Your dad is still alive, your mom just didn’t tell you so it could protect both you and him,” he told her. He sighed. “I’m a full elf,” he told her.  “Our fathers are best friends,” he said. He then took off his ring, he turned back into an elf, his outfit, the length of his hair, and his ears. He looked at her and smiled. But he got a phone call. “Hello?” He said. “Son, you need to come back now, strange creatures are starting war with us and we need your help. They captured Athena,” his mother said. His eyes opened wide, “they took Athena?!” He asked. He was so furious. “I’ll be right there,” he told her and exchanged I love you’s before hanging up. “I have to go,” he told Madison.

“Luke what’s going on? Why do you have to go already, it feels like I was just starting to get to know the real you and now you’re up and leaving me. But I understand if you have to go, I’ll be waiting for you right here,” whispered Madison as she looked up at Luke. It was going to take her some time for her to process that she was half elf and the fact that Luke was full elf. She gave him a weak smile and opened the door for him, Madison hated saying goodbye, it was hard for her to let anybody go for that matter.

He looked at her “war is happening,” he told her. He sighed and frowned. He hated to leave her by herself to think about how her new life was going to be. “What if you come with me? You can get a chance to meet your father. It might not be under the best circumstances, but we will make sure nothing happens,” he told her. He would need help rescuing his dragon too.
