Mystical Dreams Mascot Contest! As we say goodbye to October, and hello to November, Mystical Beasts is having our very first competition! As we all know, no clan is complete without a mascot, hence welcome to our very first Mascot Competition!
So what is a mascot competition you ask? Essentially we are looking for our members to create a wolf that will act as our representative in different aspects (such as artwork and for those of us who love writing, in lore as well). This mascot will remain the mascot of Mystical Beasts for at least 1 year, maybe even longer.
Our first mascot contest is centred around the theme âMystical Dreamsâ. We would love for our members to create, using the wolf wardrobe, their dream unnatural/mystical wolf. The one you would love to have, but quite frankly arenât sure you ever will. We would love to see the creativity of the community shine through, and canât wait to see your entries!
Entries are open starting today and close November 15th. Voting then starts from November 16th to and closes November 22nd, with the winner being announced on November 23rd.
Rules †Every member is allowed 2 entries, and these 2 entries are to come from wolves made in the wolf wardrobe. â€
Your design has to be your own. While you can take inspiration from other mediums, it cannot be a replica of an already existing character design. â€
Wolves are to be designed using the wardrobe. â€
Everyone is allowed one vote, and cannot vote on their own designs. â€
Entries can be messaged to Rum, Bonesintheyard & Ashon, posted on the contests section of the discord, or posted on the clan thread. If posting on the clan thread remember to mark that it is for the contest, so we donât assume you are just showing a pretty wolf. â€
Votes can be cast by messaging Rum, Bonesintheyard & Ashon, or by posting in a special discord channel that will be uploaded for the contest. In this channel only you can see your vote so it will remain a secret.
Prizes? This time there arenât necessarily Prizes. The wolf with the most votes will become our Mascot and be featured on the banner! Additionally, the runner-up will also be featured on the banner.
Questions Can I post the banner offsite?
†While you are free to use the banner on-site, we would request you not to use the banner off-site, unless you are specifically promoting Mystical Beasts. If I win the mascot contest, do I own the design or does Mystical Beasts own the design? â€
If you do win, you are free to use the mascot design to request art, etc, for your personal use, however, do be aware that Mystical Beasts may also request art of that character/wolf for artwork/promotion, and you will not own the artwork requested by Mystical Beasts. Why canât I submit a wolf I already own for the contest? â€
This is to help even the playing field. Since the game is extremely new, there is a rather steep imbalance in desired bases/markings owned and obtained by early access players and public access players. To even the playing field we wanted to make it so that regardless of how much time you might have invested, or how much money you might have invested, you can still participate since the contest requires neither. Will there be future mascot contests? â€
Hopefully! It would be awesome to see if mascots can be chosen on a yearly basis, however since this is the first one we are testing to see if people are interested in this has an idea.
Will any future mascot contests also be featuring wardrobe wolves? â€
Not necessarily, future mascot contests may allow breathing, âlivingâ wolves to be submitted. What happens if there is a tie for the winner? â€
In the event of a tie, there will be a special vote, only featuring the wolves who are tied. Members can then vote for only those wolves to see who the mascot will be. What if the tie never breaks? â€
If for some reason, no matter how many re-votes it keeps coming out as a tie, a random generator will be used to break the tie. Can bases/markings/eye colours not implemented yet be used? â€Â Yes! This is to make your dream wolf. Some bases, like tier IIIs can't be bred (or found) in-game yet, but they can be found in the wardrobe. Once it's in the wardrobe it can be used.
If you have any more queries, comments (maybe even compliments) feel free to post in the clan thread or on the discord! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with c:
