@Adel - They've already put a ton of measures in to force an artificial rarity of the base, so I don't think that the constant battling/massive use of salves is necessary to that end. Not that I really think it's necessary to limit the purchasing of the bases so much anyways, since the breeding chances are likely ridiculously low and people are already purchasing the rights to/use of other people's LT to get more bases. They'd also actually be recreating the exact same problem as the fox base with how the event has been set up if their intention was to limit purchases further. The problem with the fox base is stupid low drop rates on trophy items, which leads to very few new bases and therefore very few new studs, which in turn creates the problem of every TIII being able to be traced back to a handful of studs, making inbreeding almost inevitable. @farkitsue - Good question. I'd also like to know how the level 8 managed to hit you for 5 damage when I know my level 18 boy with his |

My comments after playing so far- I love the artwork and the whole idea in general. It's gorgeous. I agree there are too many battles, and my level 20 has lost to less than level 5 or at least lost so much HP it's ridiculous. Ugh. I've been skipping some battles even though I know I'm losing LT, but I have went through so many healing salves already. I do wish the battle encounters were less frequent, or that all of them gave at least 2-3 LT to make up for the expense of healing salves and lucky feet. ****My main question though that I dont see addressed is on the Special breeding. Can you get a Tier 3 from breeding a special to a tier 1 or 2? How does the breeding work with these? I really need to know that. I understand you can only get a special if at least one parent is a special, but what else is possible? |

To be honest, the event isn't much fun anymore. Only grinding. During the week most people have to work and don't have much time to play. I just finished my first explore bar today and it got me 13 Lunar Essence. I can probably explore once again today before I have to go to bed. And I have to be lucky to being able to log in once when it's day and once when it's night ingame. It isn't really worth it. To get LT there are too many battles, which use too many Healing salves, and about HP regeneration encounters - I fell like I don't get more than in non-event exploration.I don't have the currency/money to get energy refills/healing salves. |

I agree with what most have said regarding the battle encounters, healing, and the LE. I have not once hit my cap while out gathering LE. I think the highest I’ve gotten to has been about 75/80. It was more common the first day of the event, now it seems like a full energy bar only finds me about 6-10 LE, compared to a whopping 15-20 on the first day. And as someone who isn’t constantly online to play, this can get extremely frustrating- once I am on and it is nighttime, I have no LE to explore the dream world. And when I do have the LE to explore, at least half if not more of my encounters are battles. Which was manageable at the beginning, and if I choose my battles carefully, is still manageable. But when I get 4-5 battle encounters in a row, I blast through healing salves and I feel like there is not enough reward for defeating so many enemies. Skipping battles does lose LT, but I also feel like defeating 5 level 15 enemies is not worth the 5 LT I will get and the 20 healing salves I will have lost. I have also noticed the unbalance in battling, both in the regular world and the dream world. My level 16 lead will get smoked by a level 4 enemy, even with an active lucky foot. This is extremely frustrating and honestly just turns me away from even wanting to battle in the first place. I also find it a little confusing how a level 4 owl can outsmart other players in the dream world, but my lead can overpower a level 18+ bear and make the first move in the regular world? This does not make sense to me. Yes, this event is absolutely STUNNING. I love anything that has to do with mystical worlds, and I am absolutely LOVING the creature design and the world design! I love to explore and see all the beautiful landscapes the devs have created, and meeting all the unique creatures. But- it seems like this event has gone downhill. It was a lot more balanced in the beginning, and now it is all-too battle heavy, with too little LE being found. I don’t mean for this to sound demeaning! You really did an amazing job, and I know as a first-time event, you need feedback to be able to tweak things and make them better. I can’t wait to see how things go the second time around! Edit: One last thing! I do agree that LE should be able to be found at night as well. It sucks to have a full energy bar to explore, only to find none simply because of the time of day! |

Another example of fight, that was lvl 15 enemy, 5 levels below me. I still had energy. Just compare that numbers (my strenght is 181 by the way). This fight left me with only 5HP. Total energy used: 16. The Lunar Deer succumbs to its wounds. You have won this fight. You got +586 EXP for winning! You gained 2 Lunar Tears! The Lunar Deer is bleeding and has lost 2 HP. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 3 damage. You bite the Lunar Deer for 3 damage. The Lunar Deer is wounded and has lost 3 HP. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 5 damage. You wait but the Lunar Deer rushes at you and attacks for 1 damage! The Lunar Deer is wounded and has lost 3 HP. You watch your opponent and wait. The Lunar Deer is bleeding and has lost 2 HP. You watch your opponent and wait. The Lunar Deer is wounded and has lost 2 HP. You wait as your opponent is struggling. The Lunar Deer is wounded and has lost 3 HP. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 2 damage. You wait but the Lunar Deer rushes at you and attacks for 1 damage! The Lunar Deer is bleeding and has lost 2 HP. You wait as your opponent is struggling. The Lunar Deer is wounded and has lost 2 HP. You watch your opponent and wait. The Lunar Deer is wounded and has lost 3 HP. You rest a bit and recover 3 HP. The Lunar Deer is bleeding and has lost 3 HP. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 4 damage. You bite the Lunar Deer for 3 damage. It writhes in pain. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 2 damage. You bite the Lunar Deer for 3 damage. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 4 damage. You bite the Lunar Deer for 3 damage. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 2 damage. You try to bite the Lunar Deer but miss. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 4 damage. You try to bite the Lunar Deer but miss. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 3 damage. You try to bite the Lunar Deer but miss. The Lunar Deer attacks you for 5 damage. You bite the Lunar Deer for 4 damage. The Lunar Deer lunges and hits you for 6 damage. The Lunar Deer tries to run and is clearly faster. You still have a chance but you missed the opening move. |

I had a bison hit me for FOUTREEN damage on the first move ;_; granted it was a high level, but with healing salve prices as they are, there goes 1 GC ... I'm honestly wondering if I wouldn't come out ahead by just NOT participating in the event and instead selling all my healing salves. Sorry, I'm on mobile and didn't think to try and copy/paste the text. It's kind of hard to see, but right at the bottom it says "The charged bison tries to run and is clearly faster." My lead is my starter wolf, level 19 (same as the bison) and Speed is his highest stat at 177. What else am I supposed to do? The thing that frustrates me the most about the current battle system is that it's a huge black box. We don't know what we can do to increase our rolls and chances (if there even is anything?) and we are left guessing. But with the punishing RNG it's very difficult to analyze what is actually successful. And since energy is a precious resource almost everyone I've talked to does the "bite and bleed" method. There's no strategy and the whole battle system feels empty and devoid of content, even though there's hints at a much more complex system. For instance if you mouse over the initial roll it will say "-1 low agility" or something (and as an aside I have ONLY ever gotten debuffs from that, never +1 high agility even on severely underleveled enemies), and you get different stats based on different enemies. So if it's like scouting maybe some enemies calculate rolls on a different stat? The flavor text at the beginning makes it seem like often bears try to overwhelm you with strength, owls use smarts, etc. But we don't know and there's no way for us to find out. In the game tutorial / Tala's Archive it very clearly states that for hunters, finishers need strength, chasers need speed and agility, etc, but there is zero information on what leads need for battles. We don't know what stats will make us more likely to win against certain enemies, whether we should choose chase, lunge, snarl, etc and if different stats influence our rate of success with those options, or even what lucky feet do, really. Yeah they increase your chances but also there have been a few times where I used a lucky foot and gotten attacked and wounded on the very next turn, so, that doesn't seem very lucky. Even the conclusion of the Grouse House guide on battles is basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This thread puts it much better than I ever could, and the frustration the players are feeling about the system is really brought to light in the event that focuses so intensely on it. I'm not trying to bring it up to complain! I'm posting because I know that the admins listen to players, and that gives me a huge amount of hope for the future of Wolvden! When it's more enjoyable for everyone, people are more likely to stick around which is good for both players and staff. I love how this event has reenergized the game - lots of people are online, my trades are getting bought again, there's more people to interact with. Overall it's a great event, but because everything else is so well done it makes the battle system stick out like a sore thumb. I hope the revamp can be next on the priority list and we can start getting satisfaction instead of frustration from battling. |

chiming in to agree, the dependence on healing salves to keep up with the sheer number of battle encounters I get, with the fights being so variable in outcome that I cannot predict, even low levels take my wolf out with bleeding and unluckiness, while other fights I win with 'crush' used 3 times and its over. And the new rate for collecting LE is far too low, using an 100% energy bar I've gathered, waiting for the long night to end, just to get 5 LE by the time I'm online with the next day cycle? It's demotivating as hell for an event I was really enjoying and working hard for the previous 3 days. |

Everything everyone has said here is really good and comprehensive. It's everything I've been quietly noticing as I play, but just assumed that was a Me thing, and not a larger mechanics issue. Really, really excellent constructive criticism y'all, thank you for the breakdowns and info! I'd like to add in that I agree the battle encounters are getting to be a lot now, especially when they feel very broken. I had 40LE and encountered 17 enemies. That is very near to half of my LE and I could fight Maybe one or two of them. |
