🌔
" you cannot eat honor "

welcome, to the history of the lowlaws; a pack of outcasts who
have
run away with their final chances and found each other.

this is a thread purely for myself, but i offer it to you as a form
of entertainment as well. i ask that you do not post here -
any comments are more than welcome to be sent to me via
private message!

i have a bad habit of becoming too wrapped up in owning
pretty things on pet sites. i enjoy and miss taking
what i'm given and creating something amazing with it.
to help me enjoy this site to its fullest, i have a few rules.

1. i will not be buying any wolves to keep. all pack members
will be obtained via in-pack breeding and NBWs.

2. i will not be reclaiming any wolves. if one runs away or
is otherwise no longer a part of the pack, i will not
attempt to buy them back.

3. heirs must be pups born from the current alpha.
there is no gender rule in place - i will simply
decide what makes the most sense for lore.

those are the only rules i have currently set in
place. more may be added as i see fit!

summer | dawn | fog

the dew-covered grass was cool and slick under his heavy paws. the strong rays of the sun had just begun to peak over the forest's edge, her warmth beginning to kiss the land beneath him. the morning was met with silence; not even the birds perched inside the hollows of the nearby oaks and pines had awoken. he raised his head, gray eyes piercing through the blanket of fog that surrounded him, and paused. just beyond his vision - another being.

a wolf with a pelt as deep and dark as the winter nights. watching him. waiting. he approached, slowly, cautiously, but they did not move. warm brown eyes followed his movements and when he finally met them, they spoke. her words felt heavy upon his ears.

"chased from your pack," she spoke, elongated canines glistening in the sunbeams that found them. "an unfortunate fate. but fate is a hefty word to be spoken so early in the morning, no?" her gaze was soft but the humor was lost on him - or at least, it went unacknowledged. "follow me. i will help you claim the destiny you desire, not the one that was given to you."

despite her unfamiliarity, he was compelled to listen. and so he followed her as she led him through the thick forest, away from the open fields he had claimed the night prior. he remained silent as they walked, the fallen nettles and leaves sticking to his wet paws. "tala," she informed him as they drew closer to their destination. "my name is tala." he did not give his name in kind; she seemed unbothered.

a cool breeze cut through the trees, wind rustling their heavy furs and they both paused, inhaling the scents that carried on the draft. so many unknown smells lingering together, familiar in some ways and foreign in others. but there, faint and sweet - another wolf? female. young. alone. injured.

tala remained silent as he left her side, breaking through the forest to the other side. a mountain range loomed over the horizon, snow caps stark against the brightening sky. ahead of them a calm river shifted, the surface rippling and breaking with the movements of fish swimming past. among the hundreds of rocks that lined the water lip laid another, her blood seeping into the river. ears swiveled, perking up and she turned to face him, eyes wide and frantic. she stood and faltered; he stood and watched.

"you don't need to be afraid."

"who are you?" she questioned, panic swelling in her chest, spilling out into her words. she stepped backwards, water splashing against her hind legs. she was wary - the presence of two others did little to soothe her. tala approached them both and he was afraid the injured femme would take off, only further irritating her wounds.

"friends," the dark wolf announced. "i have a feeling...," the words drifted off into the still morning air, "that this meeting was an act of fate." tala glanced at him and his gaze narrowed, questioning, but she offered no answers. "you were both cast out from your packs. perhaps it is best another to be born."

the unnamed she-wolf met his gaze directly, for the first time. she straightened, raising herself to stand just below his height, and cautiously pulled herself from the tepid river waters. on her own, survival was slim; her previous alpha had seen to that. he did not seem so strong either, but perhaps an alliance - as temporary as it may be - would be beneficial. "who are you?" she questioned again.

"i don't have a name."

she tilted her head, nose scrunched in confusion.

"what do you mean?"

silence.

"...they never gave you a name?"

"not one i'd choose to go by any longer."

realization lit up her darkened eyes.

"i see. then...i suppose i have no name, either."

they stood like that for a moment, regarding one another with curious gazes. neither of them were aware of tala's departure, not until long after the sun hung high in the sky and they shared a meal of freshly caught trout.
