How to Give Your (NBW) Hunting Team the Best Start

Posted 2021-05-09 00:25:07

To the breeding part, I would add that its probably not a good idea to use every heat for the sake of it, especially if the person is trying to set up a new hunters line! No need to have a puppy factory if the goal are the highest stats.

I usually wait till the last heat or two, because that's the ones I'm gonna get the best pups from and as the old team starts to die, you can just rinse and repeat with the new batch, either one puppy and one NBW line so you can mix them together or one using external studs.

Overall, the guide is amazing for the people who know the basics and don't understand the hunting system and how to train the wolves with it as much! Wish there was something like that when my obvious stalker was a finisher her whole life haha

Another question! What do you do with wolves that have hit level 20 but still have lots of years left? Do you keep them on whatever team they are on? Move them to a second or third string team to allow other wolves at lower levels more stat gain prospects?

This question applies not only to hunters, but even level 20 scouts or herbalists. Hunting is the best way to earn stats for those wolves too, yes?

What I personally do is that I move scouts around level 18 to hunter, they're able to get to level 20 by hunting and I can start boosting another wolf. And then keep them on their position for the rest of their life, basically, sometimes moving between teams as I try to keep one strong team and one training team.

I think someone said there is a cap of +2 on how many stats you can gain per day, so I just make sure I rotate my two hunting teams so they all get their daily stats.

Not sure it's possible to get wolf to level 20 as a herbalist, unless you craft/forage like crazy, I keep just a good looking wolf there lol.

Yes! I keep them in their hunting position until they die so they can keep getting +1 bonus stats for the rest of their life, and consequently have the very very best pups on their last litter. And yes indeed there is a cap of 2 or rarely 3 bonus stats obtainable on pack members. Leads have no such cap.

I level my hunters up in the rainforest so they have no problem hitting level 20, so once they do I usually give them a nice retirement in an easier biome.

It's only possible to get a level 20 herbalist if you grind like crazy and have a huge disease cave, but I am not sure how worth it that will be since Lillemor exists now and the price of pups has gone up. I scout my herbalist to level 20 because they make medicines faster.

Hi! I'd love to know which hunting role (chaser, stalker, finisher) you would recommend for getting the most stats?

It doesn't actually matter, they all seem to gain only +2 a day. I've rarely seen a +3 when a scout gets +1 and then a +2 after, but the last time that happened to me was like a year ago so I am wondering if it wasn't a bug or something (????). The best way I have gotten stats on hunters is to keep track of how many they get at the end of each hunting trip each RO. If they don't get 2, have them train pups in your desired stat for the remainder of the day.
Good luck!
