Theory Testing : Hunters need time to adjust to a Biome!

Posted 2021-06-02 01:52:55

Biome moved to: Desert

Prey size you were finding previously: Large preys

How many ROs did it take to find that prey again: I can instantly see Large prey right after moving into the biome

Is the percentage of success the same?

It is higher, as my wolves leveled up during their time in Swamp :)

Hmm...

Maybe wolves have to adjust to certain biomes but level up quicker in others?

Brilliant. Thank you for the data point Mima. Can I ask: did you level up a lot in the Swamp?

biome moved to: Taiga (from Mountains)

prey size found previously: Large

how many ROs did it take to find that prey again: N/A

I have four hunting parties, all at 100% synergy, that consistently succeeded at medium and large hunts in the Mountains. I always have one hunting party going.

I moved to the Taiga yesterday, and after one RO I'm still experiencing God-awful hunting results lol.

will see what happens and update accordingly !!

Biome moved to: Glacier (from Prairie)
Prey size you were finding previously: Large
How many ROs did it take to find that prey again: The thing about the Glacier is that it only has small and critter prey trails. The Glacier is wild in that small prey trails seem to act like large prey trails. They pop up much less frequently and seem to have the same level of difficulty as large prey trails (though you're only getting 8-10 food uses if you're successful, which I'm usually not). Even at 100% synergy, 100% proficiency per wolf, and the wolf with the lowest stats being 612, the best I can do on a small prey trail is get a 45-50% success rate in the spring. Previously, in the Prairie, I would get around 60% success rate for large prey in the spring.

Critter trail success rate in spring is around 70-75%. I get 2-4 food uses per successful hunt.

I did level up quick in Swamp, as it gave my wolves more exp, but that's nothing new, trails give exp based on the biome, trail size and the level of the wolf

Thanks Mima. But the reason I asked is if you levelled up a bunch, you might have found large preys on your return even *if* your wolves were disorientated (because you were moving from a harder biome back to an easier biome). So I was wondering if you had levelled up a whole lot (which means the theory would still be supported) or not so much  (which would mean your data suggests the theory is false)

I have one team that leveled up about twice since then, as they are already all level 20.

Can't talk for the other team, as they all went up 10+ levels and I didn't have them before!

Though when I was moving to Swamp again, my prey pool was pretty much the same as the previous time I was there (spent 3 weeks in Praire, only minor level ups)
