Felix was terrified at the news and put his head in his hands. He was glad that Rhode was there. but even if he tried to help Felix to feel better. it was barely working.. just a teeny bit.  Ruby. I'm pleading with you to hold on in there  he linked again. He then sighed, lifted his head and just watched at the medics and Rhodes father  worked to release the pest. He could do anything about it. He had to patiently wait. No matter how long it took. 

He closed his eyes again as they worked but it was many many hours later til he was woken up with news.

"Felix..." Colton whispered, shaking him gently. He was exhausted, and so were the others. They had worked for thirty-six hours straight, to get the mind spider out. The total number of hours Colton had been awake was eighty-four. "Felix, we got it out and burned it." 

Felix stood up " you sure? You really sure?" he asked

When he saw Colton shake his head, Felix bit hip lip to think of what to do.  He then eyed the other medic and Rhodes father. " Thanks. Thank you so much." 

He then eyed his wife. " Ruby. My darling gem"" he kneeled down at her head and stroked her hair. he wanted her to rest, knowing that  now that the spider was out, she would want to rest it out. And he would still be there for her. 

  Felix's eyes never left Ruby. But after a while, he planted a gently kiss on her lips and just kept his eyes on her in case she woke.

"She'll wake within a few days. But she will be weak for at least two weeks." Rhode's father told him. "Do not leave her alone. She will need your protection and help until she is at her full strength again. If anything happens or worsens, contact me. We will be staying in a hotel nearby, just to make sure eveything is okay."

"Her mind still may be foggy, but what we had done is similar to a human getting brain surgery in a way. If you need to go somewhere, make sure someone else is here to watch her and take care of her."  Gaelan mentioned. "If you are willing, I can stay and help out."

Felix thought long and hard about what  he wanted to do. But then he looked up at Gaelan " You of course can stay." Then looked at the sleeping form of Rhode and kneeled down to pick him up in his arms " Do you mind if he stays with me?" Felix asked his father "  If not, thats ok too. I was just curious." 

The sight of Rhode made his heart jump because this was how he was going to be holding his little ones when they were to be born. Hands protecting them throughout their life. 

"He may stay with you. If he causes you any trouble, feel free to call us." Rhode's father smiled. "I'm sure he will be happy to see Ruby not hovered over." He chuckled softly. "Oh, when she wakes up, her eyes may be dark grey. That is normal. They will turn back to normal when her strength is back."

In my mind, I sat in the fog. I watched the arches get ripped out and something grabbed the extra pieces that were still there. My eyes still dark grey. I saw Onyx's violet eyes in the distance and felt her body lay near me, her head in my lap. I stroked her fur as I slowly closed my eyes, letting the fog completely cover me.

(god... this is just killing Felix )

Felix nodded and brought himself and Rhode to the edge of the couch once more. " feel free to stay here and watch or anything you want" he told Gaelan, who to Felix's surprise didn't budge.

But what Felix did do after , was grab a small blanket and a pillow to sit on so he was more comfortable before wrapping himself and Rhode in the blanket and slept. He hadn't eaten in weeks, but that didn't bother him.  He would only eat when ruby's strength was fully recovered. Felix stroked Rhodes long hair as he slept with him in his lap, only hearing his heartbeat and slow breaths. 

(I'm sorry lol but this is also "research" for my book with Widow in it xD so it's gotta be somewhat lengthy lol)

Gaelan just stared down at me. He took a deep breath in and exhaled before feeling a muzzle jut out from his face. It was transparent and soul-like. It was his wolf, Cerberus, in spirit form. His fingers barely touched my bare skin and he felt my soul and Onyx's soul resting peacefully and safely. A smile formed on his lips as a tear strolled down his cheek. 

 ( have any idea how im feeling rn XDD i got goosebumps all the way down my arms  XD)

Felix continued to keep Ruby as calm as possible when he saw in his mind Gaelans wolf form.  Im trust you on this. If you do any harm to her, I wont have any choice but to force you to leave. but it was Orions voice that spoke to him, not Felix. 

Not that Gaelan would, but Felix was going to be cautious in everything and everyone around the three of them. 

As Felix and Rhode slept, Orion layed beside Onyx to comfort her. Whines escaping his throat.

I am loyal to my Alpha. I would never hurt her. And neither would Gaelan. Cerberus replied calmly. He may have been a battered up war veteran wolf, but he knew an Alpha when he heard one. But I understand your caustiousness, Orion. I respect that.

Gaelan pulled his hand back and relaxed. Cerberus' spirit disappeared and he shifted. The raggedy old dark grey wolf curled up on the floor and slept.
