Unique default backgrounds for different biomes

Posted 2022-11-02 12:40:07
Seasonal as well as weather!Β

Its winter, and Im exploring in the rain forest....I meet a wolf!Β  "Hi there!"Β  As soon as I approach, suddenly Im in a misty pine forest next to a high mountain lake....

Im exploring in the desert, its foggy...I meet a wolf..."Hi there!"Β  As soon as I approach, suddenly Im in a misty pine forest next to a high mountain lake....

Im in the high taiga, its snowing, its cold, I meet a friendly wolf, "Hi there!" As soon as I approach, suddenly Im in a misty pine forest next to a high mountain lake....

Yeah it doesnt make sense to have a background that does not match the biom.

A potential issue i see is if people dress their wolves up in certain color themes, but have a default background. (As you said, they can be crazy expensive and most cant/dont pay for a new BG for wolves) But If they decide to move biomes for say different hunting times or raccoon wares items, and the backgrounds for all their (default BG) wolves automatically change, and it completely messes with the wolves color palettes or clashes with their decor, then there wouldn't be any way to change it unless they bought a new, matching, BG to apply to them.

Also, would these BGs be buyable to use outside of your home biome? What if, say, the rainforest default BG matches your wolf absolutely perfectly, but you also want to move to mountains because that BG also matches another one of your wolves. You'd have to choose between staying in one biome for the sake of a wolfs looks, or being free to move around as you want, as the exclusive way to get said BGs is for the whole pack to live in the one biome.
I, as a BG collector, think its a great idea but also restricting. I love collecting BGs so I always have the freedom to decorate any wolf how I want. But having BGs that aren't obtainable at all besides a big restriction of having to live in a certain place, (especially since you basically can never have any more than one of these 12 BGs at a given time) would be a big turn off for me as a player who collects and decorates so much.

If this was kept on a smaller scale, maybe just your lead, and obviously the befriending page, I'd def support! And if it worked out smoothly with no issues from the player base, devs could consider expanding to all your wolves with the default BG.

I definitely agree to this! and it works well for more lore oriented packs, also just adds a little spice.

I support!

Since you can buy the 'Wolvden' default backgrounds, maybe price them cheaper (350-500 each?)

And then have it so you could buy the new default biome backgrounds, biome exclusive, so you can keep them on specific wolves and trade to collect them all. Price 500-1000?

I also dig the idea of a low random chance of when befriending wolves, you could receive the corresponding biome bg equipped with where said nbw was friended

Fully support, this would add a lot in terms of flavor for your chosen biome.
