The Great Migration Event
Lore Clan vs. Raise and Chase

Welcome to the Great Migration event!

Here, we'll be competing head to head in a chase, write, and draw off between our respective clans for prizes and glory! Points will be earned through chasing wolves (with more points awarded for nicer wolves; more details below), creating artwork and writing stories based around your wolves (more details below!) We're hoping that with allowing both teams to dabble in the other's specialty, we can encourage users to step outside their comfort zone in either chasing wolves or creating lore!

In order to participate, you'll need to be either a member of Raise and Chase or Lore Clan; both links posted above. If you happen to be a member of both teams, you will need to pick a side to root for and submit prizes to. If you're a member of neither team, there's still time to join!

When?

Start Date: June 14th
End Date: June 30th

Rules of Submission

➳ make sure to state which clan you're posting for

➳ there is a limit cap of 5 submissions per user per day. This could be five wolves, or two wolves and three pieces of writing, etc.,

➳ all writing and artwork must have been created for the Great Migration Event.

➳ Submit point values of artwork, writing, and wolves calculated by YOU! Point values will be randomly and periodically checked by the competitions hosts to be sure everyone is playing fair.

➳ a mistake in totaling points is understandable (math is hard...) but continuous "errors" will cause you to be unable to participate in the event further.

➳ Artwork and writing must fit the theme of the "Great Migration"! To further understand what this means, feel free to ask questions in the Lore Clan Discussion thread. (We will glady also welcome Raise and Chase participants.) 

➳ Rules are subject to change as the competition progresses.

Point totals will be collected each day at rollover. You can assume current scores are only accurate for yesterday's submissions, and that your current scores will be submitted upon RO. This is to keep the score-keepers sane.

Submitting Wolves

➳ ALL WOLVES MUST BE CURRENT DAY CHASES. You cannot store wolves from one day, and count them as different day chases. 

➳ When submitting wolves, please submit a full screenshot or screenshots of the wolf’s main page, ensuring you include their name and genetic information (base, eyes, and markings)*, alongside a screenshot proving you chased the wolf (you can find this in your user log!)

➳ Alongside your wolf’s screenshot, please include its points-total! A wolf’s value can be calculated using the sheet below. Wolves with more markings, rarer bases, or unusual eyes are worth more!

➳ To upload a screenshot to the thread, you’ll first have to upload it to a file-sharing website like Imgur, and then right-click on the image and click “copy image link”. Then you can come over to chatter and click the ‘picture’ icon on your comment, and just paste your URL into that field! 

*R&C members will know we sometimes just link to wardrobe pages to log our chased wolves; for this contest, we’d like to keep things a little more official, so please take the extra step to screenshot your chases when submitting wolves to The Great Migration!

Submitting Artwork

➳ All pieces must be created for, and fitting the theme of, the Great Migration.
➳ The piece must include wolves in your pack.
➳ When submitting artwork, be mindful of trigger warnings if any apply. 
➳ Artwork can be submitted directly to the thread by embedding the image in your comment, or by linking to an image on an external site; for example, linking to the post if you’ve uploaded the image to tumblr!
➳ Alongside your artwork, please include its points-total!

Submitting Writing

➳ All pieces must be created for, and fitting the theme of, the Great Migration.
➳ The piece must include wolves in your pack.
➳ When submitting writing, please be mindful of any trigger warnings if any apply.
➳ Alongside your artwork, please include its points-total! A writing pieces points-total is calculated based on wordcount!

Here’s a breakdown:
for every 100 words, you earn your team 2 points. There is no "halves", ie: 150 words would earn your team 1 pts, not 2pts. Or, 1168 words would earn 22 pts for your team, not 23. 



the Great Migration Prompt

the prompt can fit anything meant for portray a great change within your pack; something meaningful to them. You’re free to interpret this how you like, or ask questions on the page or to one of the Contest Admins. (Myself, or Crickets!) However, artworks/writings featuring things that... aren’t meaningful, or are just descriptions of day-to-day activities won’t be accepted as proper entries. (Ie, a story about your wolves picking an elk off a migrating herd... wouldn’t be accepted as an entry.)
