Hi!

I want to gather data on Special * Special genetics and pass rates, and I need your help for that.

Long version:

Context:

The Grouse House Guide on Genetics, which is great, has a whole lot of stats for which tier pups you can expect depending on the parent's base. They take into account the tier, and whether the bases are matching, for example by breeding two Warm Light wolves (which matters for the pass rates: you typically get higher-tier pups with matching bases).

They found this out with a whole lot of scrying on markingless wolves with different bases, writing down the result each time. To get accurate enough results, 100 scries (400 pups) seems like a minimum, and 200 (800 pups) scries seems good (more is always better, but 200 seems enough).

Now their guide lacks a few things: some t1 statistics (for example special*t1), which is, I assume, because almost nobody cares (I kinda do, but I think I'm the only one), and special * special (non-matching base), which is, I assume, because when they did it the only special base in existence was Selene.

So, since I'm curious, I thought I could do it myself. Or more like, we could do it ourselves. Scrying is actually very cheap (10sc per scry), but times 200 that makes 2000sc, and on one person that's a lot. But if, say, 20 people got together, it'd make 100sc each, which is, I feel, not that expensive.

How you can help:

You can either scry yourself or send me SCs (I'd rather you scry, than seems less... morally questionable, and also less work for me, but it may not be convenient for you, in which case SCs are very useful).

if you send SCs:

- send it to me as a gift (please only send multiples of 10 (100, 110, 120, 130... etc.) so I can use all of it for scrying). I encourage you to donate at least 100 SC, but I'll also accept less (if we reach 1900 SC I'll start refusing the gifts for this project as the goal will have been reached).

- don't forget to add as a subject "SpeSpe Project" or I could think it's a personal gift (if you forget, you can still send me a PM later on, but it's easier that way)

if you scry:

- Scry him (1810845) and her (2625778) (so we all breed the exact same wolves); I chose those two because they're markingless non-matching Specials, aren't bino or mela carriers, and in case specials can mix, it seems more likely for there to be a chance to breed Luna out of Selene x Losna than Selene out of Luna x Losna.

- Take a screenshot (for better lisibility you should right-clic and "Save image as" for each pup); call each screenshot a consecutive number (101, 102, 103, etc...), and post here saying "I'm reserving numbers 1 to 40" (btw I'm reserving numbers 1 to 200), for example, and give that number as first column on the spreadsheet; that way when we put all the screenshots at the same place people will be able to go "is #437 really a Feldspar? Let's check" and then they can check (if you're just sending me screenshots I can rename them myself, this is only important if you want to fill out the spreadsheet yourself).

- Either

    - check which base it is (using the wardrobe in puppy mode and Skudde's list of bases) and fill out the google doc there (be careful, anyone can modify it, so don't, like, erase everything please),

    - or check the base and send me a PM and I'll fill out the doc myself,

    - or send me the screenshot and I'll check the base and fill out the doc myself.

Results:

Once we've reached 200 scries, and I've included all the data in the document (which could take some time), I'll post the results here. In the meantime, you can check out the current state of the doc. I also posted a .zip with the pictures of the scries.

So, I did a total of six scries, but I saved the first three the wrong way, so I have 15 puppy pictures saved, but I wanted to give those pics to you because I honestly don't know how to figure out how to input everything into the wardrobe to figure it all out. How can I go about getting the pictures to you @Fal
