Deep in the dense woodland, the pack of the Whispering Mist has made their home. Most pack members prefer to be reclusive and keep amongst themselves, using the fog and forest shade to hide from others. Do not mistake these wolves as cruel, however. They may be reclusive, but they are not unkind.
G e n e r a l O v e r v i e w
The dense forest that the pack of the Whispering Mist settled in is inhabited by godlings of sorts. The pack is unaware of this, and these godlings are the reason that all pack members aside from leads (and companions of leads) have been afflicted with immortality. There is a great bit of mystery about the intentions of these godlings that will never truly be explained or discovered. The pack simply lives on.
The founder of the Whispering Mist, Faun, picked that name for a reason. The dense forest seemed to always have a layer of fog circling the forest floor, no matter the weather. And if any creature were to sit and listen long enough, the wind rustling through the brush and trees would begin to sound...Alive. As if it were trying to say something.
The wolves, and any of the animals within the forest, tend to feel watched if they are alone. It's not a threatening feeling, but it can quickly make one uneasy. They are being watched, and the mist is hiding the ones that whisper.
The pack does not know, and probably will never know of the godlings that reside on this patch of earth, connected to it and controlling it as they please.
It is unknown whether these godlings are benevolent or malevolent. They do not cause too much harm, and they do not bring misfortune upon the forest. Although, it could be argued that seemingly eternal life is torturous.
Why they decided to make the wolf pack that settled in their forest immortal is uncertain, but they are always watching, listening, concealed within the mist. They whisper into the winds and gentle breezes, waiting to be heard.
Years after Faun had created her pack and settled deep within the forest, she noticed that she seemed to be aging much faster than her pack mates. The only one that also seemed to be aging faster was her companion, Didymus. As her and Didymus's faces grayed and their bones ached more and more, the wolves that were once older than the pair still seemed to be in their prime, hunting and fighting as strong as ever.
It took a long time for the pack to discuss this peculiar anomaly, as they weren't sure what to make of it. Together they counted how many moons each of them had been living, and realized that Faun and Didymus were not aging faster, in fact they were doing quite well for their ages. It was the rest of the pack that seemed to have been halted in time.
The pack desperately tried to discover what was going on, but it remained a mystery. The moon cycled and the stars circled around them in the sky, but the pack did not move and age with them. Frozen in time, they tried to make the most of the situation and lived on as usual.
They chased off their kin in fear that they would age past their parents, or worse, become immortal too. Faun stopped looking for new pack members, and asked the others to do the same. What else could they do?
FAUN

The Whispering Mist's founder and first lead wolf. Rogue and alone, Faun didn't have much purpose. As her loneliness grew, so did her sense of purpose, but she didn't know what for. Once she met Didymus, however, she realized she wanted a family, a pack to call her own. Settling in the misty, mountainous forests, the pack of the Whispering Mist was born.
Faun was a quiet and reserved wolf, but she was always welcoming to new pack members.
DIDYMUS

Faun's beloved companion. He was a rogue wolf, much like his mate. Together the two of them made their own family, bringing in wolves that would come and go as well as stay forever.
Didymus was quite outgoing, always happy to show pack members the ropes.

When Faun, the founder of the Whispering Mist, was quite old, Juniper was born. The pup was bright and strong, full of potential. Faun had a talk with Juniper as well as her mother, Sequoia, and it was decided: the Whispering Mist had an heir.
Juniper has a courageous personality and a fiery intensity in her eyes. She is always ready to fiercely protect her pack.
SEQUOIA

Sequoia is the lead huntress of the pack, and her hunting skills are hard to outmatch. Despite her reserved demeanor, she leads hunts with great organization and teamwork.
She is stoic at times, but she is a very warm-hearted wolf to those she loves and always has a glint of competition in her eye.
LINDENFLOWER

Lindenflower is rather friendly and outgoing, and has a very relaxed demeanor. He is easy to communicate with and is accepting of any conversation. He is much more adventurous than his fellow pack members, sometimes leaving to explore and find new interactions for days at a time.
Despite his very relaxed and calm nature, he can be very stern and fierce when he or his pack is threatened in any way. He is a strong wolf, and a capable opponent in battle.
BARTIMAEUS

Bartimaeus is an agreeable old soul, usually keeping to himself when he's not out hunting with the pack. He doesn't mind conversation, but he usually keeps his replies quite short, preferring to listen and observe.
He may seem reserved at first, but he is a light-hearted wolf that enjoys the simple things.
EVERGLADE

Everglade is a very talented herbalist, and loves her craft. She spends most of her time foraging and making sure pack members are in good health. She cares deeply for all creatures and is more than willing to help heal any animal that may ask her for help, wolf or not.
She has a gentle, loving nature. Her caring demeanor can easily calm the most skittish of wolves.
ALWAYS DREAMING

Always Dreaming, nicknamed "Dreamer", is extremely outgoing. In his early days of joining the pack, he would disappear for weeks at a time looking for adventure. He now spends most of his time making sure his pack stays in good spirits, and always knows how to brighten the mood.
Dreamer is a bold, confident wolf. He is much unlike his fellow pack members, but they welcome him all the same.
LAUREL

Laurel is a gentle, quiet wolf. She was born with very poor vision but has adapted quite well. Her sense of smell is extremely impressive. She mostly uses her heightened sense to help Everglade find specific herbs, but will sometimes assist on hunts with locating specific scent trails.
