Rework retirement system

I see what you're saying. But since the intent of the chase pool has changed (because of players) then even if the retiring was,  lets say, made just significantly cheaper, then they will definitely still be players who chase. There will also still be players who would prefer to chase over retire because they can't bare to kill off their off a pixel wolf. Players who R&C will chase. I don't think reducing the cost or making it free will have a negative impact. It will just make retiring more accessible and a viable option.

So let me ask this. Is the retire button really used to begin with? Outside of changing lead wolves or stud, which used only GC (correct me if I'm wrong), do players use this function to retire wolves? Or is the ability to freely chase any wolf, made this function pointless? Without a poll, we can't say for sure, probably the devs have more insight on this, but if functions isn't normally being used then why have it? If players aren't using it, then that's a sign that something needs to change.

I fully agree with you, there should definitely more illness, lethal and not. But there will still be players who don't want wait for a lethal illness (I think i've only had one in the 7 or 8 months of playing), who are unable to sell the wolf, would prefer not to chase , but end up having to because SC is too hard to get to spend it on retiring. I have definitely thought this.

I know the discussion of the scarcity of SC has been brought up a lot, and a lot a features are thought to be pretty expensive by the players. But It doesn't seem like that will change, therefore  killing a wolf shouldn't cost weeks worth of saving (maybe month worth depend who often you are able to play).
