What if you didn't have any pups to leave? Even if you breed a litter you'd have to wait until the pups were weaned. I can't think of a way to work around this other than using a snake skull or letting the quest expire. |

I'm fine because I raise and chase pups and I can easily sacrifice one of them to fulfill the quest. But I can easily see a situation where a player only has one pup that they really like and they wouldn't want to give it up. |

My biggest issue is that this quest can plague you for multiple days because of how it works. A pup stays a pup for 7 days - from 2 1/2 months to 5 1/2 months. While I don't know the odds of getting the quest, that's still 7 opportunities to get it for a pup you have no intentions to get rid of. Add on any snake skulls you might use for other quests you don't like and that's even more opportunities. (Plus if you use a snake skull to get rid of the enclave quest, I don't know if it can reroll what you were avoiding, but if it can, that's even MORE chances.) For an easy quest, it sure can suck out a lot of SC just to bypass it. And I could wait for the quest to expire, but when I have the chance of coming across it again before long, it doesn't really feel worth it. Technically I could give up one of my pups, but I don't want to. I shouldn't feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. There's lots of reasons people want to keep pups. Maybe they'd rather sell them for profit than enclave them. Maybe they want to keep their lines specific and don't want to risk any being adopted. Maybe they're for R&Cing. Maybe they're training fodder. Maybe they're just keepers. But it ultimately doesn't matter the reason - if someone doesn't want to get rid of a pup, they shouldn't have to worry about rolling a quest just because they chose to keep it. Because like I said, if the pup is kept until adolescence, that's a full seven days that this quest might keep bugging someone multiple times over a pup they already chose to keep. I really hate the idea of having to keep an enclave quest fodder pup solely to act as cushion for when this comes up. A pup which, by the way, would have been enclaved anyway. So I have to intentionally keep a pup I DON'T want, just to protect the pups I DO want? That's just unnecessarily tedious and jumping through hoops that shouldn't be there. So I'd be happy with any of: 1. Get rid of the quest entirely 2. Make it toggleable so those who care and those who don't can choose 3. Only allow pups at 2 1/2 months old to trigger the quest. (I'm only talking about the snake's quest here, not enclaving in general.) Most pups enclaved are at 2 1/2 months when they go in, so chances are there's other plans for a pup if it's kept beyond that. Still a problem imo, but not quite as bad. I don't know if you could tell, but I hate this quest lmao. |
