Oh wow I'm so happy to see a thread for CSP in here already! I absolutely love the program so I have a lot of resources I've saved up over a bit.

Tutorials

Free resources and brushes

Paid resources and brushes

I'm still looking to see what else I have, I've been saving them for like a year or two now so all my bookmarks on it are like scattered on different sites lmao.Β

Oh my, never in a million years did I think I'd find more stuff on CSP on a wolf game than searching for it myself.Β  Hi, I'm still learning the program and mainly do wolf art on it but I'm having problems figuring out the right way to do proper looking icons on CSP.Β  Sorry if that's already linked but like I said, I'm still learning CSP and the terminology.

Is there a way of doing nice looking art on low pixelated canvases (for example Wolvden's 150x150 px profile picture icon)?Β  If I try to draw on such a low pixeled canvas, surprise, surprise, the lineart/coloring, is pixelated.

Or is there a way to resize large drawings to a low pixel canvas without losing it's line quality?Β  I know about vector layers but when I tried to resize those layers on to a low px canvas, it still lost its quality.

Thanks!Β  If someone can answer this, I'll worship you forever! :D

@Sigyn

Have you checked what DPI your canvases are on? I generally put mine right at 300-350 dpi and i haven't ran into any problems with them yet even when they're icon sized(50x50 - 150x150px) 0:

Also when resizing your best bet is to mess with these settings until it looks alright! I don't really recommend drawing on a bigger canvas though and resizing it especially if your drawing is detailed; i've lost so many details sooo many times and i think i might have turned into actual salt at this point lol orz

Hopefully that answers it- Lmk if there's anything else!

I just tried it, unfortunately it didn't seem to work for me.Β  All the lines I made to test it came out grainy/pixelated.Β  Would there be any other specific setting I'd need to be on?Β  Do I need to tweak brush?Β  I'm just throwing out possible things.

Are you zoomed into the canvas at all? It's gonna look really pixelated because of the canvas' size if you're zoomed in, even at 150%!Β If it looks anything like this, it's completely normal! :D It could also be your brush as well though, true. I recommend using the turnip pen , G-pen or marker pen for icons :)

You can also try messing a bit with the anti-aliasing, those 4 dots on the tool property. I like to use the second option ^^

That helped, thanks!Β  Unfortunately, my artistic ability decreased along with the canvas size lol but I think it's just because I'm not used to drawing like this.Β  It looks about the same quality as when I first started drawing in CSP, so it's just up to practice now.

That or I focus more on display art where the canvases are larger :')

Either way, thanks so much, that helped a lot!!

One thing I love the most about CSP is the free 3D models and assets you can use!! It's great for blocking out scenes and figuring out perspective once you get used to the finicky controls lol.

Β  Incase anyone hasn't seen this guys stuff yet, check out some of these free animal models! A lot of them even come with poses and run/walk cycles….I love it so much. And it's helped me get back into drawing wolves now that I'm active on this site again!!
