Yeti nodded and gently picked up the pup by the scruff, he went and trotted at a steady pace to the place he needed to be in the group and kept his pace.
Austria trotted fast as she followed the pack, despite the extra weight from her newborns, she was still strong enough to go high speeds if she needed to. She was slightly worried of how long the journey would take, she didn't want to disturb the group by giving birth in the middle of their travels. She just had to hope that she would make it there in time that her pups are due.
The group sped up a bit, reaching the desert quite quickly. Thankfully, Fy had already sent the group ahead and the travel through the swamp was easy, as it blended into rainforest and their camp quickly. By evening, the group was already set up in their new camp.
Austria slowed to a stop at their new camp, she panted softly as she sat to rest. She looked around the new place, after a short rest she managed to find some water through the little frost that was left. She sniffed and examined the water to make sure it was safe. She confirmed it was okay and she drank some water. Yeti continued to follow the pack, trotting swiftly through the marsh, he felt at home in the squishy depths under paw. He held on to the little pup tight so it wouldn't fall from his jaws. He made it to the camp with the others and continued to hold the baby gently but firmly in his gentle jaws.
There were many broken down trees, exactly why Fy made camp here. "Take that one," the Queen pointed out a bigger tree, the roots reached over, almost touching the ground to leave a small space to get in. "for the Nursery. The one next to it is the main den and that rock pile has a crevice under it for the scouts, and the poor hunters will need to dig a bigger area out from udner one of the other trees then Deilia and I can help out widen it as well..." She trailed off, clearly talking to herself rather than Yeti. At the end of her talk she turned away, going to inspect each area.
Nosau laughed, walking over to Yeti. "Come on, this way. She's just trying to make sure everyone is comfortable before she has to go meet with the other alpha, she'll probably end up talking to herself more often than not." The melanistic wolf laughed before heading over towards the tree, holding her pup carefully.
Yeti smirked and followed her, pup firm in his careful jaws. He padded and reached the den. Austra followed Yeti and she waited, she sat outside. She started looking around and managed to find some nice nesting material, she raised her tail and wagged it as she was happy to have found some. She set it down and looked for more.
The sun was almost below the horizon when the group came together to eat. Fy left soon after, travelling light and alone to reach the other pack before leading them to her pack. They would return to mountains after a week, the hunting parties would both get some experience before being able to get back home and put it to good use.
Austria yawned and sat, she groomed her belly, digging a trench in the snow she curled up, shielded from the wind. One of many techniques her pack grew accustomed to. Yeti gently laid and curled up and put the pup in his fur to keep it warm, keeping an eye on the small baby.
Nosau frowned, looking at Austria. "Whatever are you doing? Come on, get into the nursery. The snow is no place for you." She stalked over to the roots, ducking under and into the hollow log.
Austria grew up in the outside world, she loved to sleep outside sometimes, yet she listened. She went through the snow to the den. Feeling the slight warmth of the den made her realize how cold she was and she shivered. Yeti gently put the puppy to his chest and groomed it from the extra snow flakes as Austria laid by him, he draped his tail over her shivering body. His warmth calming her.
