How Does Burying Items Work? (answered)

Hey everyone! 

I just joined today so I'm working on getting the ropes down. I saw that there is an option to bury items in the Hoard. Will this freeze a food Item to prevent it from rotting? If not, what are its other uses?

I had this same question when I joined!  It is mostly just to keep items out of the way.  There is the separate "buried" tab of your hoard where you can find those items and dig them back up.

It does not prevent rotting.

I use it for battle trophies, cave supplies, and medicines I'm stocking up on.
