"Hm," Buzzardpaw yawned, "you better hope you get that smell off of her quickly. I don't want to have to listen to Chesnutpaw's grumbling all night" he curled back up in his nest, clearly not all that interested in his younger brother's many ventures. There were about 3 or 4 other nests other than the brother's.
Keeping his voice lower now to be mindful of his littermate, Rushpaw spoke quietly. "There's 6 of us in here. Me and Buzzardpaw have the end over here in the corner. Then there's Chesnutpaw, Shrewpaw, Sunpaw, and Littlepaw. I think I saw Littlepaw and Sunpaw sharing some prey outside and Chesnutpaw is on night patrol with Shrewpaw. Thank starclan for that too. He's the oldest one of us here and therefore thinks he is entitled to everything," Rushpaw rolled his eyes.
"Chestnutpaw sounds like a kittypet neighbour of mine," Cinnamon remarked. "His name was Edal, and boy was he annoying and bratty." Cinnamon looked back on her kittypet life which she had only recently abandoned. She didn't miss at all though, and this life was already proving to be much freer.
"that basically sums him up pretty well actually," Rushpaw laughed, "at least you'll be prepared when he strolls on in here and gets all worked up about having to share 'his' den with a kittypet. Just don't listen to a word that comes out of that cat's mouth and you should be good"
"He definitely sounds like Edal," She decided. "I' know I'm gonna hate him immediately. I mean, if literally everyone does, I probably will too. And he sounds very annoying."
"Hey at least we can make fun of him together! Come on, let's get you a nest set up." He purred, "maybe we can find some fire ants to put in Chestnutpaw's!"
"Ooh, yes," Cinnamon remembered the one time she had stepped on a nest of fire ants and had been bitten all over. Most painful night of her life. "That would be awesome. You have a lot of fire ants around here?"
"if you know the right places to look!" He purred, slipping out of the den and leading the way around the back. This was two sneaky adventures in one night! "I can't wait to show you everything!!"
Cinnamon purred amusedly, following soundlessly and keeping sure to watch where she kept her paws. She certainly didn't want to bother the medicine cat with a thorn in her pad on her first night. The small she-cat kept glancing around, trying to absorb as much of the territory's sights, sounds and smells as possible.
