A Leader's Questions...

Rain glanced at the shewolf, and took a moment to observe the newcomer. It was clear she was nervous among all the other wolves, perhaps new to these lands, much like she was not long before. The shewolf's question made her pause, recalling the tale. "It's a mix or all three, I suppose. I was sent here as a safer land by the stars, under no other orders than to escape and form a better life for me and other wolves. After I met Crystal, and we settled in the mountains, we found it easier if we recruited other wolves to help with the tasks. Starting with Wither, the pack grew and organized to how we are today." She tipped her head briefly, an ear flicked, as she once again eyed the other leader up and down. 

Rain picked a wolf at random, and caught their eye. "Why don't we continue this topic? How about you? What brought your pack together?" 

Magnolia almost shot up, she loved meeting new wolves. Before she could exhaust them with a buffalo ton of hello's, she answered the question. "Blossoming Flower and our King, Amber, met after they were both exiled from their past packs. They spent a few nights together before becoming mates and forming the Prophet. It's very nice, actually. The pups like to say it's a perfect love story!" She ruffled her fur, it was beginning to get colder.

She decided to stay quiet and ask a question. "Have you ever doubted your pack before?"

Amaris (being the wolf closest to Magnolia), lowered her head at this question.

''I have doubted them many times and I have had the mind to leave them on their own......

But of course I do not have the heart to do so.

Amaris turned to the wolf to nearby wolf and asked,

''Do you ever wonder where we go after this life?''

Magic turn her head. having lost three pups in the pack. 

" i do wonder where they go after this life. i like to believe they are in heaven free from any pain and are watching us" says Magic.

" i also believe  they visit us in spirit" Magic says. 

turning her head to any wolf that is willing to answer her question "  do you ever wonder how new wolves in explore find out about your pack"?

Rain tipped her head, and watched the shewolf with narrowed eyes. She was cautious, and suspicious of Magic, but answered the question anyway. She simply shook her head. "It is our territory, they know about us by the scent markers, by our howls, the patrols and hunting parties. I'd be rather surprised if they weren't aware of us. I've been a loner, and I was hyper aware of any pack I passed, out of caution." The question seemed strange to ask, to Rain. Strange question from an even stranger wolf.

Rain picked a wolf at random, and looked them in the eye. "Do you believe in karma? Or luck? Superstitions, maybe. I personally think they are just facts of life."  

Meeting Rains blue gaze, Scathos stepped forward before answering. "In a way, Karma possibly. Superstitions play a big part in our pack. But Luck is not common in the Amberskies pack." It was a simple answer with an open ending. "Most say Karma, but we think more on balance. If the world is balanced, there is peace and prosperity, no matter the season. If the world is off-center and unbalanced, then even summer, and spring may be harsh." He tilted his head," The action of one can affect many, and in doing so change what may lie ahead."

Eyes snapping to another wolf before speaking once more, tone bland." Does your pack have certain celebrations for certain events? The birth of a new litter? Ascending to a new rank?"

Magic turns to answer the wolf question. 

" yes my pack celebrates the birth of pups, a member getting a new rank , etc" she says. 

Her pack enjoys celebrating for certain events. 

"we have celebrations for celebrating a pack members achievements, etc" she says. 

" when a pack member gains a new rank. we celebrate by letting that pack member choose how they want to celebrate getting their new rank" she says. 

Magic hopes the leaders aren't scared of her.  

Magic asks " how do choose which pack members sleep in which cave"? 

Amaris turns her head slightly to glance at Magic and says '' I separate my pack by how many moons they are and how many adventures they've had.''

Amaris then rises and walks towards a strange wolf and asks ''How does your pack react to outsiders?''

Mystic materializes out of the shadows and into the light behind the leaders, mysteriously looking around cautiously too make sure nobody noticed her entrance. Satisfied that nobody was suspicious, she stood in place and said, "My pack reacts warmly, or at least I tell them to. An outsider is treated as a friendly wolf unless they attack one of my wolves. Then, we aren't so friendly and hospitable. My wolves, always give an outsider a warm welcome, and we provide them with shelter and food until they need to head off again." Mystic looks around at the other wolves. Her magic seemed to have worked the first time, as all of them looked at her curiously, not remembering that she had already spoken.

Mystic turns and scans the loose, large circle of leaders gathered, "Is there a system of royalty and commoners in your pack? How is the line between them split, by looks, stats, etc.?"

Mystic grins at her question and fades back into the shadows as the next wolf starts to speak. The rest of the leaders look at him curiously, then at a strong, battle-scarred leader, as if he had asked the question instead of the kind, young wolf there a second ago. The other leaders had no memory of her.
