ᴛʜᴇ ꜰɪʀꜱᴛ ᴘᴀɢᴇA clan for people who are tolerant of far back common ancestry.Inbreeding has no effect on gameplay whatsoever, and yet the total avoidance of it has become the core of Wolvden's wolf economy. Wolves depreciate in value to almost nothing as soon as generation 5 in order to accommodate the market that says wolves with inbreeding, even several pages into their lineage from separate parent's lines, are worthless. This belief affects every wolf based market- T3s, ELFs, marks, carriers, studding, all of it, because whatever your wolf has in its favor, if it isn't G4 or lower you can kiss the value of the work that went into breeding that wolf goodbye. I'm starting this clan with the intent of gathering together a group of players who don't care so much about inbreeding off of the first page, up to their wolf's great grandparents. I'm doing this in order to create a more viable market for players like us, so that we don't have to conform to the unnecessarily strict inbreeding limits that other players impose upon themselves, because right within this clan there will be people who are willing and perhaps even relieved to be able to buy wolves without checking every single headache-inducing page of their lineage, or who are willing to use higher gen studs because there would be a market for those pups to potentially go into. My goal is to ultimately relax the general opinion on inbreeding so that we can have wolves with insanely long and full lineages, and we can breed more easily for high stats, raffle marks in different slots, and using breeding to create our dream wolves rather than hoping we run into a Chased with all the genetics we want but can't use items to apply and then shelling out tons of GC to make a wolf who's grandpups will be worthless regardless of how pretty or rare or strong they are. I think this is more than reasonable, I can't get my head around wolves losing value past a certain generation, it's just so arbitrary to me. I can understand the dislike of inbreeding from a moral standpoint, but as something that does occur in the wild, and has no consequences in game I don't understand why it's such a point of contention. /JUST TO CLARIFY/ I do not condone inbreeding/incest irl. Just wanting to play a game without consequences. |

Image to the DLC Thread:   Games like Flight Rising don't actually allow inbreeding, so the market is entirely stable inbreeding and heritage-wise. You can't view the heritage as far as I know, you can only see the parents. Inbreeding is entirely natural, so there is no excuse for it lowering our wolves value; and not gonna lie, the prices in wolvden is fucked at the moment. Lioden's market took years to stabilise and the worth of things have significantly dropped recently, especially hybrids like gons; this is mainly due to wolvden, as everyone has moved here to give it a try. Clean breeding is fine, but inbreeding should have no effect on the market whatsoever. People clean breed as it's a challenge, but making it so the worth in wolves, or lions, lower due to a heritage is disgusting ^^ |
