![]() I'd like to get some advice on how to decide which wolf gets which role in your pack. I already gathered some information, but am still a bit confused. So far, I found this: Best for Hunting: Stalkers require high Smarts and Wisdom. Chasers require high Agility and Speed. Finishers require high Strength. Herbalists should have high Smarts and Wisdom as well. The best Scout stats can vary, but Strength and Wisdom seem to be important. ...right so far? But what do you do if the wolf has a mix of these stats and doesn't fit in one of these categories? For example, it has high smart + speed / high agility + strength / aso. ...? And I still don't quite get what's the best way to get particular stats up. |

Higher stats wolves and higher leveled wolves seemed to help with the harder biome. Have you already seen this one?: https://www.wolvden.com/chatter/topic/600825 |

But if you already have wolves/pups you want to use, I wouldn't worry too much if their stats are not perfect for the role you want them to have. When hunting and leveling up, they tend to gain more stats in the category they need, so they kinda specialize themselves without having to do much. Of course having higher stats in the needed categories helps, but the leveling system made it so that hunters gain the stats they need. My first hunting party was made of random NBW with very basic stats, but they got better by themselves after a bit and specialized in their roles. Just remember that harder biomes requires higher stats to be able to hunt succesfully, so it's better to stick to a starter biome if you want to be successful when hunting. Moving too early could put you into a situation where you can only hunt critters trails and not have enough to feed your pack. It's a common mistake that new players make and they then have to move back to a starter biomes when they start to see all of their hunts fail. Herbalists don't seem level up the needed stats as hunters do, so your best choice is again to look for a pup/wolf with the stats you want. But personally, I've never cared too much about my herbalist stats and they have always been good herbalists. And last, scouts. Scouts need Strenght and Wisdom for the simple reason that the two last biome (Glacier and Rainforest) requires your scouts to have 101 stats in strenght for one biome, and 101 stats in Widsom for the other to be able to scout them and unlock then. Other biomes usually don't have such high requirements and can be unlocked with almost any scout, so it's suggested that they have Wis and Str higher to be able to reach those 101 stats requirement fast. Scouts stats can be "trained" by having them rescout already discovered biomes (each biome can give you 1 stat point in a specific category and in the Grouse House Guides you can find out which biome gives you which stats). Once again, you can technically use any wolf as scout, but it will take a lot more rescouting to be able to reach the 101 stats goal if they have low Wis and Str. After playing for a bit, you will unlock the ability to train pups and adols in specific stats, and that will help in preparing your next generation of working wolves. |

I already saw most of the guides, but it's a lot to take in and often difficult to get what's important right now (in the beginning) and what is probably more important later on. ..it's also a lot just in general.. ^^' So until I understand everything a bit better, this summary helps very much. Thanks!! |
