American Pika encounter appreciation post

eee tysm!! im planning on moving to the mountains for lore reasons but this lil guy makes it all the better! (ill make it my tag in the morning, its late lol)

I swear that this encounter is what i will miss the most from the mountains when I eventually do move to the taiga TwT

I always thought it was a reference to pikachu because it's a pika and it says it gives you a static shock. I'm not suret that's the case but that's just what always came to mind

i mean it's an actual animal lol

I've always been pretty sure it's both--a real animal that they wanted an encounter with, and a wink-nod to Pikachu with the shock ;) given that all the other "+ energy" encounters are more... grounded, no pun intended? Like "you play with a Least weasel" or "a heron shares a duckling" and such, having a pika, shock you, feels extremely intentional LOL

yeah the shocking part was absolutely a pikachu reference lol. they devs saw their chance and they TOOK it--

I know it's a real animal, it's just that it's called a pika and it's in the name of Pikachu

The Pika blessed me with an appearance today! And they say friday 13th is bad luck.. wrong!
