read/view only, no posting | Apostoli de Luna | Apostles of the Moon | The Creation Story | Apostoli de Luna centers around the deity Luna Mater, otherwise known as the Moon Mother. Mainly symbolized by the moon and her phases, the legends state Luna Mater is the Primum Aliquid (First Being) and the creator of the known world. From the depths of the ocean to the heights of the sky, everything was formed and molded with love and care by Luna Mater. As the scriptures state, Luna Mater was born with the universe, alone in the cold expanse of the Lumina Ultra (now known in layman’s term as space). Solitary and wary, Luna Mater created the Earth from her . The Earth kept her company for many years, letting her move around the pieces like a puzzle. After millennia, Luna Mater grew bored. In response, she created the oceans out of her own tears, salty and rough. Like the Earth, the ocean kept her company, letting Luna Mater splash and pull at the crystalline waves. Again, Luna Mater grew bored and lonely. In response, she created the sky and clouds out of her breath and whispers. Like its predecessors, the sky kept her company, letting Luna Mater create shapes out of the cotton-like clouds. Again, Luna Mater grew bored and lonely. In response, she created the sun out of her hopes and dreams. Like its predecessors, the sun kept her company, letting Luna Mater warm up in the otherwise cold Lumina Ultra. Again, Luna Mater grew bored and lonely. In response, she created life out of her very being, sacrificing her physical form. Unlike its predecessors, life did not make Luna Mater grow lonely and bored. Although no longer corporeal, Luna Mater would watch what life would do in the form of the moon, the silvery sphere the very image of her never retiring soul. Legends state that Luna Mater may visit the mortal plane in the form of a wolf, her favorite entity Life had created. Luna Mater has no set visage, although the legends have a common description: silver fur like liquid metal, white eyes like the purest of snow, and voice like the whisper of the nightly wind. Because everything in the known world was created by the very body and mind of Luna Mater, followers of Apostoli de Luna believe everything is sacred. They preach of loyalty, compassion, and acceptance of all creation, no entity better or lesser than the other. Everything in the world is part of Luna Mater and, therefore, must be respected and loved above all else. |

| Apostoli de Luna: Ranks | Although Apostoli de Luna preached the equality of all, it was realized as the religion grew that guidance was needed to lead followers away from blasphemy and teach the true virtues of Apostoli de Luna. There is no set “lead” Apostoli de Luna affiliated pack, so each pack may have a member among these ranks. That, or, territory specific convents, where the ranks live together and hold open liturgy for all. Quaesitor in Via: The Wayfinder and/or Seeker of the Way. Said to be the closest to Luna Mater, the Quaesitor in Via is the authority for scripture and Tradition. They devote their life to studying and teaching the virtues and lessons of Luna Mater. There is only one per biome and they meet once a year, when the moon is at its highest and fullest. Scribis de Nocte: The Scribes of Night. The wolves within this rank are tasked with translating the scriptures of yore into the vernacular of the land, as well as recording the Quaesitor’s teachings and messages for future followers’ reference. They typically live with the Quaesitor in Via and tend to the Spelunca in Historiis Antiquis, otherwise known as the Cave of Ancient Histories. Cometa Venatores: Comet Hunters. The largest population of Apostoli de Luna, the wolves in this rank are tasked with transporting the Quaesitor’s message across the packs affiliated with Apostoli de Luna. In days of old, Cometa Venatores were also tasked with spreading the message of Luna Mater for those unaffiliated but this task has since been abandoned, as one of the teachings of Luna Mater is to “not force a belief upon another, as their belief is as important as yours”. Inventores Stellarum: Inventors of the Stars. The wolves in this rank are hand picked by the Council of Wayfinders when they are adolescent, believed to have a certain closeness to Luna Mater. They tutor under the Scribes of Night and their biome’s Wayfinder until it is their time to replace. As a group of Inventors vary from 1-4, the next Wayfinder is chosen via trial. |
