Its impossible to tell without breeding the wolf and having it produce one of those mutations. There is a melanism stud, for example, and his pups all have a 15% chance to be carriers. However, we cannot tell which pups are carriers without them growing and being bred to either another possible carrier or a wolf with melanism; if a pup in that litter has melanism, you know the parents are carriers. There is also a stud who is confirmed to be an albinism carrier, because he produced an albino pup at the beginning of early access. However the pup died shortly after. |

Yep. My current strategy will be to breed that female to their father (albino/melanistic) stud twice, and if they fail twice, I'm ruling it as not a carrier. Of course there's still a chance they are, but then I'll replace them with one of their children. Because they're bred with a carrier, the children have the same chance of being a carrier. Of course, some users prefer clean breeding, therefore will not use this method. They also would be against buying a mutated wolf if it was inbred. This is just the way I'm doing it. |
