Oh I also love Ghost's idea! That's great actually!

I'm with@Flower on the first page. Ads would be great for WD, but you can barely go online anymore without having to close a million pop-ups and silence a bunch of auto-playing video ads before you get the actual content you came for ):

I also like the idea of WD letting its own users pay for certain advertising! It would need to be different enough from advertising in the forums and sales chats to warrant payment though.

I would voluntarily click 10 ads on WD a day so long as they didn't have intrusive ones ^^

There should definitely be ads. The devs work hard on this game and have to pay server costs. It's only fair to have ads on the site and give them support to keep this game running for all of us.

Strong no support from me, but I actually do really like the suggestion for user created ads. Ads for peoples commissions and to check out their wolves is something I would actually be happy to see, but I would not be happy to see regular ads on the site (despite understanding the positives that would come from it).

User-generated ads would be a boon. HIGH support to that idea.

I disagree, user generated Ads are a bad idea.

The whole reason Zea suggested Ads and I am for it is because Wolvden needs a way to get income without Users spedning money on it, a way thats less pay to win not MORE.

I get why a lot people are against ads because every other website puts them in our faces 24/7. But many of other animal breeding games have found a way to implement advertisment banners at the bottom of the page or somewhere on the side where it doesn't affect gameplay or site layout at all.

Right now wolvden depends on us giving them money via GC which means they keep encouraging us to spent GC. Ads would provide them with a steady source of income without making players pay for it.

Lioden actually used to have ads, and I'm assuming they were removed because they didn't want to deal with malicious ads redirecting, etc. which was an issue at one point. I can't blame them, it was probably not really worth the ad whack-a-mole.

I'm fine with either game having a banner ad at the bottom of the page or whatever. Granted I also use adblock lol, but if they can implement ads that are unobtrusive and non-malicious I see no reason why not. This is rather difficult to do, though, as ad programs are pretty crappy and end up letting a lot of things through that they shouldn't. Or maybe the other game I've played (not WD or LD) is just really bad at handling ads.

Also, yeah I don't support player ads.

I am genuinely curious - what are your arguments against player ads? Directing this both @Thalath and @wormdelivre. You didn't really go into detail as to why you think they are a poor option.

For me, I think player-purchased ads offer another avenue to generating income to support further game development. I'd imagine there would need to be some filtering or review of sorts by the admin team before an ad is released. Ad content would be on topic naturally - I could imagine art sales, studs, or group events as just a few examples.

@notoriousNox.

I, for one, am not completley against player ads I am just against player ads instead of real ads.

Player Ads would mean even more PaytoWin. People who already have the GC/money can spent it to get more. Especially since we already have player ads. In the different sales chats.

But Player ads, once again would only bring in as much money as the players are willing to spent, and the idea behind ads was to give the game money without the players. A game thats free to play relying only on the money the players spent will always push gameplay methods to encourage players spending money.

I play three other browser pet games that do just fine having ads that are you know on the side and not really visible, they really blend into the site layout.

Just to be clear, when I talk about ads, I am NOT talking about the stuff you have on social media thats in the middle of the content. Nobody wants that. But if there was an ad banner just about Wolvdens Copyright info, on the bottom of the page nobody would really mind.

I normally always use adblockers everywhere. But for my other pet sim games I have it turned off because I wanna support the game without having to spent my own money on them.

This whole idea really is to give the game a steady source of income that doesn't depend on how much playerbase wants to spent and I say this as someone who has spent more than enough on the game.
