How high is high stat?

How high is high stat?

I understand that a full cycle is roughly 160 days, so nobody has run through the entire lifetime of a wolf under current game parameters yet, but I'm trying to get a handle on what we know so far in order to optimize wolf acquisition timing.

What's the stat spread for wild wolves? (It looks like a 250 average for me so far)
Does that amount increase with the level of the player's Lead Wolf?
Does it increase in more difficult biomes?

Where does the stat spread for puppies?
It looks like it might be a 10% decrease from the parent stats, but both of my parent wolves had around the same stats. How does this affect a large disparity breeding, such as a 600 stat lead wolf with a 250 stat NBW?

I also would say 250 being the average; in general the older the nbw the higher the stats.

Those do not seem to increase with your lead wolf (at least not at level 14) and dont affect biomes. I think they are rolled the same way npc fights are which also range level 1 through 20 in all biomes.

I don't remember in which grouse house guide the discussion was (pregnancy or genetics i think?) but some players collect a few data points that averaged the pups stats at birth at around 35% of the parents combined number. (but again, not confirmed, few numbers.) But breeding with a 250 nbw will give you lower stats that breeding to 500 wolf if you have 600 yourself.

It sounds like the optimal strategy [for me] is to pick up temporary hunters from explore right away and not worry too much about looking for good stats while I wait for markings to saturate the population. Thanks!
