( snap is such an adorable boi )

a tall pine forest loomed over the snow-covered ground, mountains framed the sky all around. the sky was a bright, pale blue, with small flakes drifted downwards. flitting through the tall trees was a young dragoness, something, different about her then normal icewings.

(lol thanks! I haven't done this in a while so I'm sorry if I'm a lil rusty)

Snap soared over the cluster of pines. He had been looking for a place to relax and get away from his responsibilities for a while, and this looked like as good a place as any. plenty of trees to hide in, in the event that someone came looking for him. It wasn't rare for Snap to disappear for a few hours every once in a while, he was known to be a very private dragon, but he still liked the comfort of being far away from the major cities. As he glided down to the edges of the forest, landing softly, he wandered into the trees. 		🐦Spidereyes

opalescent was further into the trees, quietly stalking an oblivious rabbit. the rabbit munched loudly on some brittle grass, not hearing or smelling the dragon behind. opal paused, folded her wings in tight, and pounced, landing square on the rabbit. it let out a shriek before opal sank her teeth into it. the smell of blood slowly drifted downwind.

Snap froze (haha) at the sound of the rabbit's cry. He cautiously moved towards the sound, prowling lightly through the snow as to make as little noise as possible. when he got close enough to smell the small creature's blood he crouched, tucking his wings in and flattening himself against the snow. Like this he was practically invisible, save for his patches of grey and blue scales. As he scanned his surroundings he spotted a small dragon, not much younger than him with her freshly killed meal. Recognizing her as another icewing, he stood, shaking snowflakes off his wings and moved closer, hoping to catch her attention without seeming aggressive. 		🐦Spidereyes

( if i disappear, i just fell asleep or passed out. giving a heads up now so it doesn't seem like I just left you hanging )

opal quickly dug into her rabbit, not noticing the other dragon until she had finished the rabbit. she caught his form from the corner of her eye and jumped, facing snap head on. she seemed to be making herself smaller then she was, tucking her scarred wings in close, hiding them from view, and crouching. opal ducked her head, avoiding eye contact.

Snap stopped, seeing he had startled the dragoness. He sat back on his hind legs before holding his front talons open, palms up, in a show of passiveness. {Do you sign?} he asked, waving his claws in swift motions. He had only met a couple dragons who could actually speak to him, but it didn't hurt to ask. 		🐦Spidereyes

opal seemed to hesitate, but her ears flicked forward. she sat up, still keeping her wings tucked tightly, and nodded tentively. it was another dragon who could sign, she'd never met anyone who could understand.

Now it was Snap's turn to be startled. He hadn't actually expected the other dragon to know sign language. He only showed it for a second before he returned to his relaxed posture. {What is your name?} he asked tentatively. 		🐦Spidereyes

opalescent, opal. what is yours? she signed back. the movements are shaky and unsure, as if she hadn't done it in a long time. opal's tail flicked behind her.
