Does Your Pack Have Lore?

Basically my lore ties into Lioden lore. Two goddesses are married, but are separated in a panic as the heavens begin to crumble. To hide, one takes the form of a lioness, and the other takes the form of a wolf. The two hide in different planets- the lioness in Lavi, the wolf in Faolan. Both of them realized they may never see each other again, and thus created packs/prides to unite the females of that species together in honour of their wife. The lioness wanted to create her own pride, but was struck down by a demigod named Fallen Sun to create a false prophet to the pride. Finally, Queen Venus Verticordia realized the truth and is currently attempting to rebuild the pride in honour of the goddess' true wishes. Meanwhile, the wolf goddess sang to the moon for eons, hoping to call to her love. Upon realizing her wife's fate, she created the Stella Venetus pack and sent Queen Philomena Luna to create a lesbian pack in honour of her wife. |

I'm still working on my lore, but I've got the outline for my alpha and luna, and I've already begun the backstory for my herbalist! |

@Cricket- My favourite lioness on LD is called Coal, and I wanted something to link to her. She has an explore encounter based on her design too, because my partner submitted her wardrobe link during one of Xy's art streams ^u^ The history/basic info for my pack is up on my den page now if you want to know the canon "in-universe" reason behind their name as well Also, I was just assuming it would be the same here as it is on LD for tumblr links, but linking to other sites should be fine. I should probably read the rules though, haha |

Lots of ppl connecting their Wolvden lore back to Lioden! That's cool! I kinda went for a clean break-- my old lioden pride had this very intense like... ocean themed lore so I was happy to break way & try something new lol, but I like the 'legacy' connection. Plus IDK if there are ocean-adjacent wolves? (not that... lions are particularly aquatic either, I guess lmao, but I'm steering a bit more realistic w/ this pack then I did with my lions) @Vague That's funny you have your wolves' territory as part of a conservation project; my lead wolf's backstory features a conservation effort pretty prominently, too! I like how closely your pack lives with human settlements; I think that gives it a cool feel (& a little possibility for danger, too, for the wolves & the humans). Your main wolves are so nice btw-- I love the look of Ourkan especially @ Firecracker Love these lesbian wolves (and lions)!! The grand like... mythical scale of that story is cool. It's neat to see how different the lore people come up with is; huge range between really grounded & very magical @Eclipsies is your username like... a pun on eclipse + ellipses? I love that lol. & smart to get started thinking about your herbalist now, I have no idea what I'll do for that yet. Kinda flying by the seat of my pants w/ this lore |

@Crickets honestly, I'm the same, my herbalist lore started as my alpha lore and when I finished writing the first paragraph I was like 'why is this from the POV of the herbalist? is this just gonna be herbalist lore now?' And now my herbalist lore exists I'm also making a simple conlang for the naming conventions and stuff in the world, which is challenging but fun |

@Yas Damn, your lead wolf has been through a lot, I'm glad he found Marvel! I hope his future looks brighter! @Crickets I love Rovers backstoy! I can just imagine how she escaped from the zookeepers! My pack has lore too! I wasn't sure if should write something in a modern setting, since Wolvden plays in the present time, but I ended up yeeting my Pack into 1898, because I'm stuck in the Red Dead Redemtion 2 hell since a year... It's not very well written and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here, since it contains gore and racism. But I made a fake newspaper article a few days ago, which sums it up a little bit without any of these topics. :D |

@Tharkenta thank you! I imagine Rover as the type to exaggerate or outright lie about her past to seem more capable, so while I don't have her whole backstory nailed down, I think if that story is at all true it's probably more like "she was part of a trap and release program" than "she starred in a Madagascar knockoff" lol. & That newspaper article is cool! Really adds to the 'period piece' feel of your pack. It feels almost like the sort of artefact I would make for a D&D game, haha. I love the "real" details of it: like the coffee stain & stuff. & obviously I'm not an admin or anything, but I think SOME mature themes are okay: 18+ stuff isn't OK, but 16+ is, I think is the rule? So like... rated T for Teen lol. So I THINK your article is ok! Grain of salt, though, I am 100% not an expert |

Thanks! I really don't want to risk anything, I guess I just let the story rot on my tumblr lol |

@Eclipsies Oh I didn't see this! You're coming up w a conlang? That's cool! Can you say more abt it? I'm trying to figure out naming conventions too, but way less elaborate lol! Not so much conlang as like "wolves raised near humans have more human names, wolves raised without human contact have more nature-themed names" (and then my leader I guess... in just her litter wolves were named for birth order? Like I said, not exactly elaborately thought out lmao). |

I had to look up what a conlang was, but I feel like we might be doing something similar @eclipsies_wolff? My naming conventions are based off of sounds a wolf or dog could make, then translated into pretty looking words. So Ourkan (pronounced or-can) is two different toned barks, the first one more breathy and the second louder and sharper |
