He immediately fixed his mask, but it was too late. He picked Jessie up off his shoulders and passed her to Sarah. He knew he couldn't let her know he was the man from the village, so he tried his best to cover it up. "Hm.? I'm terribly sorry ma'am, but I'm afraid I don't know of this 'Arius'?" He commented, seeming confused. "Well, nevertheless, I've got to get back to my meeting and such things. I'm glad I could be of service to you; Have a nice night, Lady Sarah." He bowed, before realising his mistake. He'd called her by name. |

Sarah snapped her finger, "Sir with all do respect..your not good at lying... Your the man from the village, and there is no reason to hide it." She said with a soft chuckle, "But..even if you do continue to hide it, I wanted to say thank you for your help at the festival and tonight." With that she turned away with Jessie in her arms. |

He stood there for a moment, wanting to . . Well, he's not quite sure what he wanted to do. He just didn't want her to leave. He turned and headed back towards the meeting room, not wanting to deal with anyone else today. He had been in there for maybe ten minutes when his father's servant came for him. "Sir, your father has requested your presence." "Alright.. I'm coming." He sighed, knowing this wouldn't be a pleasant talk. "So, have you chosen yet?" ". . ." He stayed silent, knowing he hadn't even begun to consider anyone. "Ryomu. You must choose by the end of the ball. You've met plenty of young ladies; They're all beautiful too, so I don't see why this is such an issue for you!" His father snapped, rubbing his temples. "One girl." He hesitated, not sure how his father would react. "There is one girl whom I find interesting." He'd caught his father's attention. "So, which house is she from.?" "I'm not sure. . She's not a noble." He sighed. "Ryomu. ." He cut his father off, already having a speech prepared. "Just hear me out, please. You've invited every woman in the Empire, so why am I not allowed to choose from outside the higher tiers.? You're right, those women are lovley, but they're not the ones I want." He grew quiet near the end, not sure what to say next. "Her name?" "Sarah Romano." "You're dismissed, and I hope you're not too disappointed." He added that last part with the intention of intimidating Ryomu. His father had called the attention of everyone in the grand hall, and began his final announcement. "I have come with news! My son has finally selected his harem!" Ryomu stood next to his father, trying to hide his worry. "Six daughters have been selected, and I couldn't be happier about whom he's chosen!" Who YOU'VE chosen... He gritted his teeth, knowing his father selected the women who would be most beneficial for the kingdom. "Lady Arisa Crest of the Crest house! Lady Elisia Aizume of the Aizume house! Lady Juniper Lyrine of the Lyrine house! Lady Millia Numine of the Numine house! Lady Kamine Deii of the Deii house! And finally. . " He trailed off for effect. "Sarah Romano!" His father finished, not even looking at Ryomu to see his shock. |

Sarah had been sitting with Jessie when she heard her name. She looked up, completely shocked. Other people looked at her and as the other women went over to where the Emperor and Prince were, she ended up standing up. She backed away and moved towards the exit. There was mistake. Her name shouldn't have been called, she was a farmer not a noble. She kept Jessie in her arms as she quickly moved to leave. |

Gotta go to dinner, luv you! You'd better spill by the time I get back =_= )) The king must've known this would happen, and had already made sure the doors were sealed off. No one was really paying attention to the one name called without a house, the crowd was already too busy focusing on the girls who had been selected. Ryomu's eyes flicked to Sarah, and he knew she must be freaking out. Inside, he was too. He hadn't expected his father to actually select a woman of his interest, and he knew that Sarah hadn't been expecting it either. He wasn't sure what to do. He was required to go along with his father to meet his harem, but that was the last thing on his mind. He quickly made his way over with his father and began discussing with them what would happen next. He still hadn't seen Sarah among them, and hoped she'd managed to get away, though he knew that was unlikely. |

Sarah seemed to only panic more when the doors were sealed. She turned back and she ended up just staying in the crowd, not bothering to go any where near the king or prince. Jessie rested her head on her moms shoulders, and Sarah gave her a gentle squeeze. She was still panicking but tried to seem calm. She kept glancing around for any way out. |

"You fine ladies shall live here, in the palace, until my son selects his bride in a few years time. There will be maids and servants assigned to each of you, and you will be given your own private quarters. We shall see to it that they are to your liking! Please feel free to say your goodbyes to your families now; I'm sure they're all very proud, but they're bound to miss you." He dismissed them, before turning to Ryomu. "Where is she, Ryo?" He growled, concerned. "Father, she was given no warning! She's panicking in the crowd right now. It'd be best for her to just leave." He insisted, before he was cut off. "That's not an option, Ryomu. The people will grow suspicious if the sixth daughter is not present. The guards will escort her to the meeting room you were in before; Talk to her." He ordered, waving his guards to go find her. By now, they already knew what she looked like, and it would be easy for them to find her, since she had a child in her description. Love ya too lol)) Sarah knew it was pointless to try and get away from the guards. She swallowed and kept Jessie in her arms as she was led to the meeting room. She was still panicking, she had been given no warning. She barely knew this man, and this last person she was with abandoned her. She couldn't risk that again. She kept pacing keeping Jessie in a tight grip. |

I'm assuming you already went to bed, so I'll talk to you in the morning luv! I'm gonna brainstormmm >:3 )) Five minutes after the talk with his father, Josiah came and informed him that Sarah was in the meeting room. As he walked past Josiah, he heard him mutter, "I hope you know what you're doing, sir." Oh trust me . . I don't. He swallowed as he walked into the room. He took off his mask and set it down on the large table in the center. He felt horrible as he watched Sarah pace with worry. Jessie was asleep against her, so he tried his best to be quiet. "Sarah.?" He spoke softly, as to not alarm her. She turned swiftly to face him, a look of fear and rage in her eyes. "I-" He stopped to rethink his words. "I'm sorry. I should've told you back in the village, but- but you didn't need to know.." He realised how that sounded, and quickly corrected himself. "What I meant was, it was best that you think I was normal.. People tend to get hurt when they affiliate with me, and I just didn't want that to happen to you!" He insisted. He then walked over to the table and sat down on it. There were a thousand things going through his head at the moment, but he knew none of them could give her a proper explanation. "Dammit. . " He cursed under his breath, which was something he didn't do often. He looked up; Sarah was still bouncing with Jessie, not saying a word. "I . . I don't know how to fix this, Sarah . ."
