The Hellhounds difference in upbringing would've been considered pitiful, it was knowledge for Zhangzi. The more he knew, possibly the better. One of them had caught ahold of the smell that had been drifting past them for awhile. There was a lot of strange and cruel things in the woods, something had probably caught a human awhile ago and dragged it into the open.

Zhangzi stayed at his place beside the riverbank, away from the dogs and rotting being on the other side. He wasn't feeling threatened by any of them nor would he underestimate any of them. He had a vague idea of the first hellhound he came across, but not the second or the other thing now sparking the canines' aggression.
