Studs and their coat patterns

Studs and their coat patterns

Right- so I've seen a lot of people prefer studs with more unique patterns, like brindles and masks and so on-

But a lot of "bland" looking studs can have very pretty pups, especially if the two wolves being bred have very different coats, like black and white. So what is the obsession with rare looking studs? Those patterns aren't guaranteed to pass onto the pups, they can be one color.

My point is that studs with a one-color coat can produce gorgeous patterns, so why do people tend to skip over/ignore them?

I suppose it's just that you have a better chance of getting the markings you're after if the stud (or the dam, for that matter) have those markings. And some people seem eager to check off every mutation/marking/coat color in the game as quickly as possible.
