Is this all good?))

((Unknown "The Beast", 21, They/Them, Freak Show, Their costume and acting are very spot-on, Silver))

Vick stood in the currently empty tent, looking into the mirror at themself. They paid close attention to the grey fur, checking the area at their wrist for any abnormalities. Deeming their fur fitting, they moved their caramel hand to mess with their ears. The same grey as the rest of their fur, save for the white ear tips. Vick gave themself one last look, catching their own yellow eyes staring at them. With a smile, they could tell the circus had opened. Their ears picked up the sound of patrons, even though most of them hadn't come too near to the tent. Vick flicked a switch at the back of the mirror and their reflection changed to show them in basic clown makeup. They weren't sure how it worked, but they weren't sure how most of the circus worked. They walked to the entrance and pulled the fabric away, showing the contents of the tent to any onlookers. They stepped into their section, the partially see-through walls giving a cage-like look. They sat down, listening for the sound of any entering people.

((Morwenna, looks about 20-24 no one knows their real age, She/They, Freak Show, no one's actually seen her change out of her costume so they dont actually know if it's a costume or not they just know that sometimes she has legs and sometimes she doesnt, came to the circus at a young age, Angel))

Morwenna popped her head out of the water, combing her silvery hair out of her face. Their eyes scanned the room as she swam in place, arms on the edge of the tank. Some might have thought they were looking for someone, but really they were just waiting for a visitor to come to the tank so she could do tricks for young and old alike. Morwenna remembered when she used to watch her mother perform for children, and how excited she felt to do the same. But really, she knew that, if the come-and-goers hadn't already, they would grow bored of her tricks at some point. And that scared her. Would she be fired? This circus was all she had ever known, would she be accepted outside of it? No. People didnt like what they didnt understand, unless it was in a circus "where it belonged" as Morwenna had been told time and time again. They shook their head, no, they had the circus right now, best not to think about the future.

As the snake charmer explored the grounds, the faint sound of splashing water drew him in. If snakes weren't what he was associated with then a serpent would be. He was akin to the depth of the sea, dark, mysterious and dangerous to be pulled too close to. The way he lured people in was like a siren that didn't have a song, it caused feelings of uneasiness from an outside perspective.
A few feet in front of him was a tank full of the hydrating liquid and a being at the edge. This piqued his interest, perhaps seeing or hearing about them before.

The mermaid's eyes caught on someone approaching her tank, her mouth curling into a smile that displayed her sharper than normal teeth. Who could this be? He seems familiar. Hmm.. she thought for a second, wracking her brain for where she could have seen him. Oh! That's it. The snake charmer! Although, they couldn't remember his name. They swished their tail in the water, watching him with her ocean blue eyes. She leaned forward slightly, the smile she was still holding softening a bit as she took him in.

"Slow night?" He asked the aquatic creature, referring to the lack of people. Everyone would be interested in the main event happening at the bigtop, whenever that started. Probably when the moon was at its highest peak. Smaller attractions such as Zhangzi's snake charming weren't the main focus and he didn't mind that. His act worked better with a small crowd where he could be more attentive to each person.

"Unfortunately." She answered, her voice smooth like silk. "Wish it weren't, I miss seeing the awe on little kids' faces when they see me." They pouted, resting their chin in their palm. "Do you know what the big event is? No one ever tells me anything. Their tail swished again in annoyance, churning the water slightly. "Have you had any patrons tonight?" She asked, the crooked smile returning to her face. She did enjoy listening to his snake charming. But she couldn't remember if she had heard it that night.

He listened to their woes, a usual sly smile present across his lips. His aura didn't expel the most trustworthiness, but he couldn't sacrifice his place in the circus. This place was somewhat like a security blank, even if he wandered off elsewhere he could come back to this and it'd be a constant thing in his unpredictable ways. His siblings had both been apart of this place until they eventually went astray, he didn't know where they went nor did he care too much. They didn't share the same affliction he had with snakes but they did share his alluring looks.
"Word through the grapevine is that there's a trick rider and clowns performing." Zhangzi told what little he'd heard from those who'd passed by. "My attraction is the same as always, lost quests stumbling upon us." He scratched under the chin of the dark snake that lounged across his shoulders as he spoke.

Her eyes widened in awe, "Wow, really?" They gaped, lifting themself further out of the water. "Oh, I cant wait! I wonder if I'll be able to watch?" She sat herself on the edge of the tank, bringing her hand up to her chin in a thinking motion. She played with a strand of her silvery hair with the other hand, tail fin moving idly where it was still in the water. They looked over again, noticing the snake on his shoulders. A large smile played upon their lips, "oh how sweet! What's its name?" She asked him, her slightly slitted eyes focused on the snake.

Lotus grinned at the show assistant. "Ah! A stagehand should know how to work the pyrotechnics, as it were." He grabbed another torch from the extras piled near the entrance and lobbed them over his head in a very relaxed two-item juggle. The small fires made shadows dance across his painted face and brightly colored outfit. He winked, "Let me know if you need my lighter. Just be aware it's a little easier to juggle when the items are roughly the same size and weight."

He nodded his head to where more unlit torches were decorating the scene. They appeared in places where shadows were unnaturally long. It was best to bring some light to them. "It's part show, part housekeeping. Tent-keeping? Haha!!" Lotus caught both torches in his right hand and bowed again. "Tonight we start as security with a fitting coat of paint. Just light the unlit torches and make sure everything starts smoothly."

The mist barely moved, but suddenly Sofia was there. She smiled almost sadly to herself, lighting a torch and placing it into its holster. Was her stride long from being tall, or could she move a bit quicker on opening nights like this? The ringmaster was unsure. Her father had been able to do the same, when he had been alive.

"Miss Rihan," Her voice left her throat with a curl of mist as she exhaled into the night, "I hope I do not scare your horses. It seems rather dark in your corner. Have my clowns not done their rounds yet?" Her question was rhetorical. She'd have to talk to those preforming tonight. The ringmaster could hear a calliope playing in the distance, the voices of guests overpowering the ones she knew better. At least she would not be busy until a bit later tonight. Sofia Argent made her way around the stables, lighting the torches to the rhythm of the music in the distance.

((mmmm decisions i'll figure it out sometime!!))

"Ringmaster! Good evening." Rihan swirled around at Sofia's voice. Carys snorted, apparently unbothered. As the ringmaster passed, most horses ignored her but some of them glanced up. Most of the driving horses were unbothered, preferring to just eat and sleep, ready for when they were next needed but a few of the riding horses peeked over, trying to see if there were any treats to be had.

The trick rider swayed to the music, rocking on her heels as she watched the troches come to life. "The crowds are taking a while this evening. Perhaps the torches will help. What do you think cariad? Do you think they will be excited to see your run?" She asked the mare who, of course, remained silent but Rihan laughed, running a hand down Carys' forehead.
