Since I've clarified on the Bugbox report, I'll make some additional clarifications here as well.

Merle (specifically Cream, Honey, White, and Yellow) and Merle Patches (specifically Black, Brown, and Dark Brown) have been Tier 2 since the very start of Wolvden, and were planned as Tier 2 during development and beta testing.  Tier 2 is only for raffle markings, which are markings that are meant to originate from raffle studs.  Random Marking Applicators and Total Shuffles were released on Wolvden prior to the raffle stud mechanic, and we unfortunately did not re-assign Merle and Merle Patches temporarily to Tier 5 (the only tier that cannot be applied via RMAs/Total Shuffles) with the release of these items, which is why they were able to be applied to wolves before the raffle stud mechanic was implemented.  This led to the issue of players considering them as Tier 7 (RMA Exclusive) markings, but they have never been Tier 7, and although they can be applied via RMAs, this does not make them a Tier 7 marking, either—any marking outside of Tier 5 markings can be applied via RMAs.  This is an intentional mechanic.

The only reason that I had not announced the presence of Merle and Merle Patches markings that were on raffle studs in the news previously is because they were not new markings by the time raffle studs were implemented.  They had been circulating in-game for months at that point, and I didn't think that they were worth mentioning (unlike the brand new raffle marking shapes that were added at the time) since Merle and Merle Patches were present on hundreds of wolves already.

That being said, starting with this week's raffle stud and the raffle studs with Merle and Merle Patches that I release in the future, I'll be sure to announce all of their Tier 2 markings in the news moving forward.

As we won't be re-assigning the markings from Tier 2 to Tier 7, I'll go ahead and lock this topic for now.
