James shook his head a little quickly, "I can just get over the counter medicine.." He said as he sighed. He swallowed, as another wave if nausea hit him. "I-it'll pass....I-I don't need to go to urgent care. I-I'm not gonna go."
Karlie cupped the side of James' face with his hand, trying to stay calm. "James, I love you, and you're going. The over the counter shit doesn't work nearly as well, and you know it. I won't let them do anything you're not comfortable with, I promise, but you need to go see someone about this. We agreed you'd go to the doctor soon. I can't just sit by and let this happen when you know there's another way." His tone was firm, but not aggressive.
James felt his hands continue shaking and he closed his eyes tightly. "W-when......d-do I have t-to go.." He asked, his voice barely louder than a whisper. He felt terrified to go see a doctor...he knew he agreed to it already but he was scared for a doctor to see what he looked like.
Karlie's expression softened a bit, and he pulled James closer to him, keeping his arm around the other's shoulder. ". . How about we go right now? Just to get it over with.? That way it won't interfere with the kids' schedules either." He spoke quietly, just trying to make sure James didn't freak out.
James curled instantly into his sighed. He held on to Karlie, like he was scared the other male was gonna leave. "....O-ok..." He knew Karlie was right... He needed to go, but it didn't help ease his fear. The doctor would want to weigh him and he was scared for what it was gonna turn out to be.
They sat there for a few more minutes before standing up and leaving. Karlie paid for their food and then left, making sure Ari knew not to tell the other staff about it. They got in the truck and headed for urgent care, and Karlie could feel the fear radiating off of James.
He was sitting in the lobby of the doctors' office, just filling out some paperwork for James. He was still holding the other's hand, feeling how he was still slightly shaky.
Working on my book rn, so I might poof ever few minutes ))
So many thoughts were running through the smaller males head. He was terrified to be here and the thought of running away appeared so many times. He kept tapping his foot on the ground and he had a tight grip on Karlie's hand
Karlie watched as a smaller woman approached them and said it was time for James to go in. "I'm going with him." Karlie told her, leaving no room for argument. She gave the two a knowing look and then sighed, gesturing for them to come with her. He stood up, still holding James' hand.
James had a terrified look in his eyes as he went back. The nurse took him back and measured his height, but soon it was time for him to be weighed. James hesitated before he slowly got on the scale. The nurse had a look of shock and worry on her face. "....95 lbs."
Karlie had been told he had to let go of James' hand while he was being weighed, and he could see the look of worry on the nurse's face. "Oh my . . We're gonna get you back so you can talk to the doctor, okay, hon?" She sounded sweet, but Karlie could see the urgent notes she was taking. She led them back to a room, and then left to go find the doctor. "Hey, you're doing great, alright? They're just gonna come in and ask you some questions." He told James, turning to him and wrapping his arms around the other's waist.
