Reigned July 17, 2022 (Late Summer, Year 20) - Current

The Wintertooth Stalkers pack began from two young individuals, Casper and Red Mountain. Given a task by his ancestors, Casper and his mate have settled in the Prairie. Seperated from their previous packs the two will now have to fend for themselves and be independent. The Wintertooth Stalkers are to be rivaled by their cousin pack, The Light Hounds.

During late autumn the Wintertooth Stalkers have officially had their first litter of pups. They were blessed with a litter of 4, 3 males and 1 female.

Late Summer, Year 1

Year 1 of Casper's Reign

My Grandmother, Nessie, came down from the Royal's Rose garden along with another wolf I do not know. The stranger wolf was called Prophet. They had a third eye in their skull that sent chills down my spine. My Grandmother however seemed calm beside the wolf. They were apparently a great aunt of my grandmother. My grandmother explained to me what Prophet had seen in my future. I was to be subjected to a bit of an experiment along with a cousin of mine. Nessie tells me how her bloodline is meant to be the strongest. Her bloodline is the only bloodline that remains from the starters of our pack. While we may not be purebloods we still hold Volks bloodline. Though she warns me to not trust Bandit for he has no heirs and will likely want to eliminate the last of the half bloods. I am told I will be paired with a stranger deemed worthy of me. Chosen by a neutral party, great aunt Chestnut. Nessie tells me to focus on strength. 

I have meet my mate, her name is Red Mountain. She hails from a strong pack. It seems her sibling was also chosen for my cousin. They must wish to see which bloodline will out preform the other. Will it be Sunset's blood, or my own father's? I do not know why they even wish to compare. My father and his sister were very close. He even chose her to be his beta when he ruled. But I suppose now that they are dead and gone they are curious of who should continue. Currently my older cousin Chilling Warmth is covering leadership duties for our dying pack.

Early Autumn, Year 1

Year 1 of Casper's Reign

Our first day as an established pack wasn't too bad. But it certainly wasn't anything to write home about. We managed to find ourselves a wolf to join our pack which has made hunting more possible. I would say for three wolves, the fact we at least caught one of our prey yesterday was a sign of good fortune. Out of the 4 hunts yesterday we were able to catch 1 small prey. I look forward to what todays ventures will bring us. 

I'm not quite sure what my Great Aunt Chestnut was thinking when she picked Red Mountain out for me. We don't exactly get along well. I know we aren't like madly in love with one another, but she's always seeing the worst in what's happening. I know I can do this, but I could really use her support in this challenge we have been presented....I do hope she doesn't stay so pessimistic throughout our entire lifetime together.

Early Autumn, Year 1

Year 1 of Casper's Reign

Despite us gaining experience yesterday we did not improve our hunting prowess. We still managed to catch one of our prey but that was out of 5 hunts this time instead of four. But, one prey caught is still better than none. We all improved that day so it wasn't a complete waste either. 

Despite our differences we officially tied the knot yesterday in our companionship. Red Mountain is now expecting our first litter of pups. I'm actually a bit nervous about it. We don't have enough pack members to pup-sit them when we go out hunting. I worry we will lose them so early on. I'm not sure how prepared I am for this new step.

Late Autumn, Year 1

Year 1 of Casper's Reign

Our pack still struggles to catch each prey we hunt for, but we are always getting better. Its a slow start but we have something to prove now. We managed to get a new packmate the other day which has relieved some stress from the hunting duties. But of course once Red Mountain had to retire to the den for labor it was strained again.

Red Mountain had a safe delivery. We are both happy to announce our first litter to the rest of the pack. It was a litter of four pups, 3 males and 1 female. Red Mountain is ready to get back to hunting. The pups are very young so they won't wander. But I still worry. It is out first litter, I'm not sure how many will survive. But we will do our best with our limited resources.

Mid Winter, Year 1

Year 1 of Casper's Reign

During the start of winter our pack became trapped under the fresh snow that fell onto the prairie. Luckily we had enough rations to keep ourselves going until me and our other two pack members could dig out.

Red Mountain and I are going through a period of grief. One of our sons did not make it through the early winter. May Somhairle Ros rest in peace. The other pups shiver, they were born at a bad time. I hope at least one may make it.

Mid Winter, Year 1

Year 1 of Casper's Reign

Despite the colder times ahead we are still managing to hunt and even catch several prey. It's strange to think back at how we started during a prime hunting time for packs but had such a hard time. Its still not much but catching three prey is more than we have ever caught before. We continue to get more experienced as the days grow dimmer.

While we are still going through grief of the lost of our first pup, I am happy to say the other three are still kicking right now. Though Red Mountain grows concerned every time we leave them to hunt. I try to reassure her all the pelts I tear off our prey that is salvageable will help keep them warm.

Late Winter, Year 1

Year 1 of Casper's Reign

It was just lucky that we caught three prey the other day, as yesterday's hunts went pitifully. The coldest part of winter is here and it shows. We barely managed to catch one medium prey yesterday. But it was enough to sustain our pack. But on the brighter side, we are soon to see spring.

Our other three pups are getting older, I'm not sure they even remember they had a fourth littermate. Red mountain insists we tell them about him and to not act like he didn't exist. But I don't believe that would be very kind. They are just pups, why burden them with the lost of a sibling they never knew. Though I doubt Red Mountain will take my opinion on the matter.

Late Winter, Year 1

Year 1 of Casper's Reign

We still had some good success with hunting today but somethings wrong. The territory, somethings happened to it. We've never seen this before. I don't think even my ancestors have seen it before. What's with all these disasters?!

Our three pups have been weaned off Red Mountain. But everyone in the pack is tensed. We saw something strange pass by the den during the night. It looked horrifying. Whatever is happening its not just a nightmare, and its not just happening to us. Some sort of evil seems to have been released. With the pups weaned now its time to begin teaching them. Training them in strength is our first priority. I will teach them today, but it will put back our hunting a bit. The pack will just have to wait till after the lesson.
