Anyone else think the questing snake is unusual? Well, first, it keeps giving me herb-related quests. What does it want with the herbs? Why does it want them? Is the snake a master herbalist? Maybe that's where the racoon gets his herb bundles.
Secondly, how did the snake learn to speak (or act) wolf?
Thirdly, why does it keep giving me trade 3/6/9 items to Racoon Wares quests? are the racoon and the snake secret allies? Is that where the snake gets the cash to give you after quests?
Are the Racoon and the snake in an alliance?
The questing snake gives Racoon the things he gets from quests, and in exchange, the Racoon gives him money.
Also, Racoon has snake skulls to make snake shut up. (thanks to skulk, leash and earth for this comment)
Also, why does the snake want to do business with the wolves? Snakes usually just bite us and leave-
And yet another also-whenever the snake wants us to battle a certain animal, the animals vanishes into the unknown.

I agree Snake is definitely allies with Raccoon. Not sure about the wolf language part because wolves solely depend on body language. Maybe they'll howl to signal to other packs, "Our howls are loud. There's a lot of us, don't dare attack!" But mostly body language, like cowering from the lead or a pup doing a small play bow motion to another pup. Still weird a snake could learn the language, much less want to be involved.

The snake is an impartial seer, only restoring balance to the world. Who's to say he doesn't tell the raccoon to shell out a certain amount of silver cones a day, and that's where his cones limit comes from?
