Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Medicine Den

Fadedpaw started to purr at Fernshade's kind words. She often wondered what it would be like to have both of her parents, sometimes blaming herself for her father's absence. And despite her mother's acceptance of her... abnormality? She was quite accepting. Other cats around camp weren't sure what to make of her either, getting strange looks since she was young. But she knew who she was now, and she had started to grow rather proud of it. She was different, yes, but she could still be a great medicine cat, and she tried her damn hardest to make every cat proud of her and happy to have her of service. She knew starclan gave her this challenge in life, and trying not to question them, she turned her differences into who she was, and she wasn't going to let others tell her who she wasn't. "Thank you, Fernshade." She had whispered, still purring, and now standing up. "I'm going to go see if Heatherstump or Featherspire can help me find something to give you to help get some strength back after throwing up."

They padded over, clearing their throat. "I'm looking for a strengthening herb, could one of you..." Their voice died in their throat, finally seeing what it was they were looking at. It was a tiny little kit, they could tell it's fur was drying off by the way it poofed, and still looked damp in some areas. "What... What's this, whose kit are they? How did they get here?" They asked, worried about the poor thing. They knew it wasn't Sparrowsong's kit, and Mosskit was her only surviving kit, thoughts racing with a million more questions. How could a little kit end up here? Was their mother nearby, or did something terrible happen?

Fernshade — She/Her — Camp

"of course Fadedpaw." She nodded, and curled up in one of the unoccupied nests. "Yeah.. right. More herbs.. woo!" she said in a very melancholic voice, and closed her eyes to rest a bit. That conversation got her thinking. She had been… lucky, per say, when getting to choose her own name. Fadedpaw hadn't. What made StarClan decide to bless me with a path so lucky and not them? I don't understand. But she knew they wouldn't answer. StarClan never would recently. It was lonely, with out them, but also peaceful. And scary.

Featherspire — He/They/Xe — Med Cat — Camp

"Whitepaw found this little runty thing in the lake; apparently he wanted to take a swim in leaf-fall." Featherspire snickered without any malice. Watching fondly as Sparrowsong tended to the black tabby. "He goes by Little Brown. Apparently, he ran away from his mom." Featherspire, confident that the queen could supervise the little scrap, turned to Fadedpaw. "You said strengthening herbs? Err.. we don't really have any. Or any herbs at all. What was going on over there anyway?" Featherspire peeked around Fadedpaw to glance at Fernshade, and raised her brown at them expectantly.

"Little Brown" - Kit - he/him - Location: Medicine Cat Den

Little Brown was still tearing at the mouse, glad to have something other than berries to eat. "I'm Mama's kit," he answered Fadedpaw's question without looking up. He heard Featherspire's statements and looked up. "I didn't want to fall in- and I didn't run away! I went on an adventure and got lost," Little Brown protested before sneezing. His nose was runny and he sniffled loudly.

Crowheart - Warrior - he/him - Location: Forest

Crowheart followed Stormclaw as the other warrior took the lead. Now, he could pay more attention to scents and sounds rather than the ground beneath his paws. Not that he was going to be careless about where he was going, of course. He kept his ears pricked as he listened for signs of prey and predators. His stomach growled hungrily again. Last night he had only shared a meager mouse with his sister before resting.

Newpaw-Apprentice-She/her-Location: Camp

Newpaw was grateful for Snowwhisper's words of encouragement. It helped motivate her not to give up and she thanked her lucky stars that Applestar had paired them together as mentor and apprentice. She shuddered, realizing she could have been unlucky and gotten the meanest, grumpiest mentor ever. She remembered hearing some of the warriors talking about their apprenticeships on their journey to this new territory. The lack of elders meant a lack of stories and since she, her brother, and Mosskit were the youngest, some of the warriors offered them stories to entertain them. But it was also probably to give Skystripe and Sparrowsong time to themselves now that she thought about it.

She heard a new voice and turned to see Morningskies, one of the deputies of the clan.  Oh great Starclan! One of the deputies, this is so amazing! Wait, Newpaw stay calm, it's not a big deal. The apprentice told herself as she tried to contain her excitement. "Hi Morningskies." Newpaw greeted, trying to sound normal. At the mention of food, her stomach grumbled but she knew she wasn't supposed to eat without permission, or at least until everyone else had. But she looked to Snowwhisper curiously, wondering what he would say.

Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Medicine Den

She hummed poor little kit, she hoped they'd find his mother soon. Or perhaps Sparrowsong' would give him protection?

They deflated up on hearing that there weren't any herbs, and ran off the checklist of herbs they had thought of earlier. "A possible deathberry incident, but really? No herbs at all? Juniper, mallow, burnet?! Not even borage, I know it grows near water. Or what about ragweed? I hear it grows near mountains too." They were spitting out suggestions, thinking of different ways and things that would help Fernshade, but also showing off their herb knowledge, just a little.

Snowwhisper - Warrior - he/him - Location: Camp

He bowed down to the deputy, feeling his stomach grumble at the sight of the prey. It'd be rude to take it when others haven't, but Newpaw was still young and needed her strength. "I'll wait until the others have eaten." He says. "But, Newpaw should take it." He wouldn't want his apprentice to go hungry, especially with the physical work they were doing. "I'd appreciate the help, Morningskies. Right now we're tying the moss together with reeds while it dries out. Then we'll put it on top of, and secure it to, the nursery."

Featherspire

"right, and hedgehogs fly." Featherspire retorted. "Either way, Little Brown, you got separated. We'll also need to do something for that sniffle." They wrinkled their muzzle in a grin as Fadedpaw spat out herbs apon herbs, And nodded approvingly. "No need to show off. I guess juniper would be good, and easy to find. Hrph. I'll have to ask Applestar for a herb patrol, you shouldn't have to go out again right after heading out."

Morning' Skies - Deputy - She/Her - Location: Camp

"Here you go" She gave Newpaw the dove as she sat down and started tying the moss and reeds together. "How's training?" She asked as she thought about what it would be like as an apprentice, as she had never experienced it.

"Little Brown" - Kit - he/him - Location: Medicine Cat Den

"It was an adventure," Little Brown mumbled. He had eaten a significant portion of the mouse and couldn't eat more at the moment, so he simply sat there, watching the other cats. He heard Fadedpaw list out herbs, which he knew nothing about. He also remembered the roles in a Clan that he had recently been told about.

He looked down at his own little paws. Wow. Me and Mama and Little Gray and Little Mew are so different. This wouldn't discourage him - it would only make him more eager to learn about this Clan that had saved him.

Amberblaze - Warrior - She/They - Location: Forest

Amberblaze admired Stormclaw's bravery as he took lead of the group. Of course, she didn't view Crowheart as any less for backing away from the job when he did; they understood just how intimidating thick trees could seem to cats who were unfamiliar with navigating them. They padded along with the rest of the group as Stormclaw led. Otterslip, she noticed, had slid into the back of the patrol,  likely to make sure they knew where they'd been clearly. Since Otterslip was from Thunderclan, it was likely easier for them to keep track of everything incase the cats needed to make a swift exit.

Amberblaze allowed herself to drink in the air of their surroundings, hoping for any smell of prey. It seemed the birds were all up high, and the prey scents near the ground were slightly stale. Rabbit had crossed her tongue though, so she hoped they would be able to find and bring some of those back to the clan as they figured it would feed a large majority of the cats. Definitely more filling than the few mice the other warriors had found this morning.

Newpaw-Apprentice-She/her-Location: Camp

Newpaw thanked Morningskies for the dove before taking a break from her task for a few moments. She took a few small bites before nudging the dove over towards her mentor, silently asking him to eat. She felt bad eating in front of him despite him giving her permission, and she knew that a good clanmate shared. Or at least that's what Skystripe always told her when she was in the nursery with her brother. She quickly cleaned her face with her paws, before turning to Morningskies. "Well, we haven't done any training just yet. It's only my first day as an apprentice, but I really like it so far." Newpaw answered honestly.

Stormclaw-Warrior-He/him-Location: Camp

The silver tom led the way through the trees, taking note of parts of the forest that stood out to him the most as he made a mental map of where they had been. As long as he didn't get too distracted, he would be able to help them retrace their steps. Although an idea came to mind as they walked, and he spoke aloud to the others to get their thoughts and opinions. "Should we mark the trees so that we don't lose our path back the way we came?" Having a scent trail to follow could be considerably helpful, so long as it didn't start to rain heavily. But judging by the weather it didn't seem like it would rain anytime soon, but he couldn't predict the future, so who knew.
