When the priest said the ending words, he hesitantly leaned down and pecked the man on the lips. Seconds after it was made official, he strode to the exit, disappearing from sight as his cloak dragged behind him. He could hear a disgruntled noise from his mother, he would be getting a talking to for this. But he honestly couldn't care less.
He made his way to his room in the castle, hanging the cape up and changing into something more casual. Rough cloth pants and a cotton shirt untied at the top. He rolled the sleeves up and grabbed his sword with its sheath and belt, wandering to the fighting range.
Lavender at least wait until Fable left before walking away with dignity, striding down the isle before finding the marriage chambers. He silently stripped down to the think silk gown before laying down in the bed and pressing his face into his palms. "What is my luck...?"
He dipped his head at his sparring partner, unsheathing his sword and getting into his fighting stance. They clanged their blades together 3 times before starting. He dodged his first jab, doing a matching one seconds later. They continued sparring until they both had small cuts on their arms and faces, putting their swords away and shaking hands.
Fable stalked back to the chambers he was expected to share with his spouse. Could he even call the man that? They werent in love, they were only official because of an alliance. He frowned, No, they cant make me stay with or sleep near someone I'm not in love with. He thought, passing the door and entering his own room.
Lavender found himself heaving out silent sobs, fear, grief and rage driving the emotions. He shifted down onto the floor, on his knees as he looked up, sniffling. "What did I do to deserve this..? Did I ever break your rules, Gods? You're all vile and twisted to make this my fate!" He yelled up at the ceiling with shear and utter anger, the tears still streaming down his face.
"May the bloody seven hells take me instead of having to lay with... That!" He hissed through his teeth, head falling back down as he bit back the urge to destroy this entire room.
Fable put his sword away, washing his face in the fresh water in his basin. He heard a knock at his door and he grabbed his towel, putting it around his shoulders after he dryed his face. He opened the door, already knowing who it was. "Mother, I dont want to talk." He said, her stern face mirrored back on his own.
"I couldn't care less Fable, you need to apologize." She said. He frowned, anger rising once again. "I'm not going to do that."
He turned and grabbed the nearest glass item before throwing it against the door and watching it shatter. Tears streamed down his face more as he screamed. "WHY ME!?! What did I do for this to be my life! Why must my children be sired by that monster!"
His mother gave him another intense stare and he backed down. "Fine." He said, moving past her and walking down the hall to the chambers they were supposed to be sharing together. He raised his fist to knock, but heard glass smashing against the door and hesitated, hearing his new spouse's words. Pain flared in his heart as he remembered the last time someone had called him a monster, but he blocked it out.
He knocked on the door, waiting with a stoic face so he didnt show any unnecessary emotions.
Lavender opened the door, not bothering to wait until Fable was fully in before walking off to curl up on the edge of the bed, shifting so Fable couldn't see his face. "Get yourself handled so I can sleep and bleed alone."
"What? I- Nevermind. All I wanted to say is that I'm deeply sorry for being unkind to you at the ceremony." He said, only stepping one foot inside. He sighed, "Well, that's all. Sleep well." He said, turning back around and going to shut the door. He did feel bad, but not the type of bad most people feel. Just... a bit sad. He didnt believe he did anything wrong, but this man was raised different.
"Wait, before you leave." He spoke and turned, knowing how red and swollen his eyes and cheeks were. He stood up and moved to step closer to Fable, fighting back tears. "You must promise me I will be allowed to teach our children of my home. Take them there when they are old enough to travel. It is-... It is so cold here... The people and songs are of war and tragedy, that is not home to me."
