 I won't argue about where or who they should talk to, just if they wanna speak let them speak. Maybe others don't know it's a problem and they want to raise awareness… but appropriation is a little more then that…just because a museum knows my culture and respects it doesn't make anyone feel better seeing an exhibit as if everyone of that culture is already dead. As if it's something people need to see before it's gone. But I'm Apache / Cherokee as well with close ties to Acoma, although not enough percentage to claim my dad is the last to, and it doesn't bother me, they're not Eagle feathers and I don't think they plan on doing something like that so I've never said anything. But if others do… well that's how they feel |
