Feedback Request: Traveling Wolves

However I'm having a hard time seeing why it's necessary. It doesn't add anything substantial gameplay-wise, and it won't be used by a majority of the player base — I know that I personally will never use this feature because I don't care for lore and I don't interact with forum games. I can only see it causing confusion to new players who ask what the Traveler role does, only to be told that its only purpose is to send the wolf to another player ( I can imagine many people's reaction to this being.. well, why would I ever want to do that.. this is my wolf?). It does not provide any benefit, it only fixes a problem experienced by a small group of players. It'll be a huge coding update ignored by most people entirely. This feature could be a far-off addition, maybe, but I would prefer to see current time and energy put into the substantial coding updates we've been promised which affect all players, not just a small group who engage with the community. |

There's a concern about the traveling wolves and it's becoming an issue but the staff don't want to discourage it as it's not fair for those who wish to send their wolves around. The sibling game Lioden has the same 'game' going around (Traveling lions) and that's allowed there as well. It certainly wouldn't be fair to those on WD in that regard and vice versa. Traveling animals was meant to be a harmless and fun game with fellow players that sadly have bad people taking advantage of others and end up doing things against another's wishes. Yes the animal would belong to host and therefore can do what they want but that's not the aim of the travel game and those who play but steal or chase/kill/reserve aren't playing fairly and that's an issue. One that the staff had a hard time helping with when issues arose. Forum games are supposed to be fun and interactive with each other Not a hassle. Yes there's some issues but this feature is meant to help those issues so those who wish to play traveler can do so in more safety as it'll be made official and can be properly tended to where staff can. As for it being clan only, i don't think people would like it. I certainly wouldn't. I've seen enough exclusive to 'a certain group' kinda deal and i'm tired of seeing that. There could be something put in where indeed could toggle if they are open to allowing traveling wolves. Other updates i'm sure are coming but this seems a bit more important cuz it's tackling a problem and making a game easier to manage and let's people still have fun with an optional forum game that's popular enough. There's bound to be things that don't seem necessary but people want or makes things easier. (Why do we have animals the color of damn rainbow and a few games that can give some things and pass the time but other than that aren't really needed? Poor choice of example and there's better ones but still.) |

I always worried about sending a wolf out only for someone to come ruin the fun but I think this system would work really well to prevent that And while some people may not use this feature, it won't be a hinderance to those who decide not to. Edit: I forgot to save my original edit- but I do agree the this shouldn't be the main focus as far as development updates, a side project or far later updated preferably. Seeing as theres other developments in progress that affect more than just a small community in the game |

Example 1: You are hosting a traveling wolf and you make them a pupsitter. The owner recalls the wolf at 22:00 WD time, after you've gone to bed. Rollover happens and your pups die. Example 2: You would like to recall a traveler that you own. However, their host has sent them out for a hunt/scout and gone inactive, so the action is not fully resolved. Because the wolf is still technically in the middle of an activity I don't know if it'd be possible to recall them. Because of situations like this, I think it's for the best that traveling wolves wouldn't be able to perform other tasks. As someone who highkey cares about stats, this aspect doesn't bother me; traveler stat gain is so incidental and tiny that it doesn't amount to much. |

A toggle on their profile settings. Means you can't trade traveling wolves to users who don't want to play, and removes extra ui like traveller role for members who won't ever utilise it |
