1. Other Development of the game needs to come first. Mostly the features promises already promised - skill trees, more minigames, personality update, enclave shop update, nesting pose, clan/group update, etc. (Also it's been 2 years since we've had a new mutation and that would be nice but isn't the point. 2. It should be a lore/roleplaying feature. Which means I don't support breeding, additional roles, or anything that may overcomplicate the feature. Other Suggestions I really like (Because I don't like being negative all the time!) 1. A toggle to opt out of using the Traveling Wolf Feature 2. A banner at the top of the page warning they are travelling wolves 3. A unique chat / forum board so they are removed from the giveaway channel (since you can't keep them) 4. Traveling Wolves gain a small amount of exp each night that they spend in a den different from their own (like a pupsitter) |

Please. If you have a reason to breed the wolves I dont have listed below, id LOVE to hear. I mean this with the best intentions <3 Reasons to breed traveling wolves: -Additional Lore -People want to breed them -Could produce some cool puppies Reasons to not breed traveling wolves: -People can't agree on who the pups belong to -Both sides will be disapointed whichever side is chosen, because both sides spend resources / currency on the wolf and then creating the pups. I can see both sides of the owner/host argument -Would take some real balancing and fleshing out to work a. If wolves are frozen in the home while they're pregnant weaning, what happens if the account goes inactive? b. Removing the pups and making them wean if the wolf is called back could cause a lot of issues in the game. The only comparible feature is puppies being aged into alpha, and that costs 20-45 GC to do. That's how it was balanced out. c. What if someone agrees "you can keep 1 puppy" and goes back on their word? d. In the case of breeding, female wolves will be more popular as traveling wolves as they can be bred, while wolves are not e. What if people use this feature to get around block lists? f. What if someone inbreeds a pup that the owner didn't want inbred? g. What if people use this as a way to bypass stud fees? h. Will people be allowed hold raffles to allow a "chance" to breed with the traveler? Or pay to host a traveler? -All of these things along would add a lot of work and fleshing -Better wolves would be more valuable to hosts, which means "lesser/potato" wolves would be hosted far less often (Not fairer to newer players) -This would probably increase the amount of modbox work, which goes against the point -It can cause bribery, increase begging, and add pressure to users with "fancier" wolves -It could cause pressure to people who don't want to make traveling wolves, but have really special genes/markings/bases and people bug them about it |

The more parts added to this feature, the more questions it brings up. There are so many What If's here, it's a lot of extra complications and risks for something that is being considered to reduce mod-boxed concerns. (Also, on the main post there's already a mention of a log for every traveling wolf that comes and goes for players to use. An extra page along those lines sounds pretty redundant.) |

Seems you hit some of my points right on the nail of the head. Are we really out to continue allowing wolves, mostly females, to be turned to travelers just for the sake it's a free wolf, to get across to doing breedings/roles/etc., even though there's a mass amount of wolves in the Trading Center, Chatter forums, and even Giveaway Chat that are cheap and/or free for the taking. Why does it have to be specifically travelers people are "begging" (harsh word but in this case, it feels necessary) to breed to when there's so many choices on the site outside of this simplistic chatter game? |

As for "where would the puppies go?" question. If pups are conceived and born in a host's pack, they stay there. Moms gone? Then have another female in the pack be a surrogate/adoptive mother and take care of the pups, whether the mother be picked at random or given a choice by the player I don't mind. If the mother is taken away before pups are born, I can understand the issue with supposably sending them back. My idea though I can understand not everyone would like it, is that the mother stays with the host until pups are born. once pups are born, they may be moved to another mother and the traveler can be returned home. Again, I can see issues with that so the other option I can think at the moment is that the Owner can take both mother and pups (only unborn) and keep the pups if the person is inactive for let's say 2-3 days? as if there is a timer for how long you can be inactive with the traveler. Now mind you these are just some Idea's I have for possibly allowing breeding, I would PREFER breeding, whether for lore or just for fun to see what others get. But I can also see and understand the issues with trying to keep it fair. and sorry if it's a mess, I'm tired and hungry and don't feel like cleaning up my words even if it backfires on me |
